    1. Any of you able to decipher this?
    2. well thank you for that. Any idea of the current value and also the value of the Iraqi Police one shown above?
    3. other side. And what about the Police medal shown in post 50? Any idea of the value please?
    4. My Arab (Egyptian?) medal. Can anyone give me an idea of the current value?
    5. I can never understand this sort of colour as camouflage. I have seen this sort of blue uniform (no palm tree..) in the United Arab Emirates also....the sand dunes in the UAE are not blue either so why?
    6. Maybe I did not express myself very well. I also deplore the lack of proper official information on these medals and remain sceptical about people claiming that one medal is a fake simply because it does not correspond exactly with their own version...Like you I am not yet convinced about the authenticity of one version against another.
    7. I do not believe one way or the other. As you point out we, in these forums, tend to rely on other's opinions but how do they know? Where is the manufacturer's original catalogue? There are rather few examples of the Memel medal issued so it makes it even more difficult to get a concensus I guess. As I say, many members the WAF seemed to feel strongly against the curved "m".
    8. and here's the one believed to be "incorrect" by the other forum:
    9. Nice set STeve. Far from me to spoil your pleasure but having read a lot of comments on the Memel medals in another forum, I am still very confused about the curved shape of the letter "m" and "g". What do members of this forum think about these issues? Here's the back of mine.
    10. How amazing that a POW could take his driving test. Is this an amazing country or what?
    11. She is opened to the public. About ?7 gets you in with a guide. You will find her in Birkenhead docks (follow signs for "historic ships" or something like that).
    12. Another great one Gordon! I remember you selling many EKs (last year ?) so I assumed you were now concentrating on U Boat stuff....(I did purchase a great EK1 from you at the time and it is one of the best pieces I own). Have you caught the bug again?
    13. Very nice George! a perfect match I think. Have you got any theory as to why whoever made these, decided to go against the industry standard at the time, i.e. decided not to use a multi piece construction?
    14. Some of you may be interested in this new addition to my collection. It is unmarked, is vaulted and is a single-piece construction! Now looking for a 1939 model!
    15. Lovely I hope I may get the chance to purchase something like that one day
    16. ...and out we come through the rear torpedo loading bay
    17. One of the only two "heads" on board
    18. Ship controling equipment (says he, the ignorant one )
