    1. Here you are! Shown before (search for "Heim"), but we can see here, that it was possible, to wear two different classes of the BMVO with X together. Unfortunately I do not know much about this order and therefore can´t tell you the detailed regulations. Kind regards, Komtur.
    2. Thanks Stefan for that nice and very unusual picture! In between I´ve got another one:
    3. I am searching for informations and portraits of Colin Freiherr von Halkett (22.11.1867 - 30.8.1924) In 1914 he was as Major and Bataillonskommandeur in the Saxon IR 134 (Plauen). Before the war he got the Albrechts-Order knight 1st class and the officers service cross. On 26.12.1914 he got the St. Henry knight. He retired as Oberst a. D. Thanks in advance, Komtur.
    4. Document for the Oldenburg knight cross 1st class with X:
    5. I am very sorry, that I forgot to thank you for this information This was our guy:
    6. An odd kind of decoration for black officers in German colonial service. Produced were 33 in the Berliner Münze (1895 - 3; 1898 - 5; 1917 - 25). Only 3 awards are documented. Regards, Komtur.
    7. Thanks Glenn for these additional information. Our young Ulanen lieutenant in the 1870ies:
    8. Thanks Glenn. I knew in that case I can always count on you Regards, Komtur.
    9. In WWI he was active as delegate of the Red Cross in Reservelazarett Naumburg and lived in Eisenach/Thuringia.
    10. I am searching for promotion data of Generalmajor a. D. Leo von Bernuth (1851-1944) 1870 (?) - 1878/80 (?) Westphälisches Ulanen-Rgt. Nr. 5 1878/80 (?) - 1888 2. Hannoversches Ulanen-Rgt. Nr. 14 1888 - 1898/00 (?) 1. Großherzoglich Mecklenburgisches Dragoner-Rgt. Nr. 17 1898/00 (?) - 1902 2. Schlesisches Dragoner-Rgt. Nr.8 1902 - 1906/08 (?) Kommandeur 1. Großherzoglich Hessisches Dragoner-Rgt. Nr. 23 1906/08 (?) - 1910 Kommandeur 29. Kavallerie-Brigade Kind regards, Komtur.
    11. No, never for the 4th class, wich was always in silver. The higher classes (3rd, 2nd, 1st, grandcross), normally made of gold, were from 1916 to 1918 officially in silver gilded. There are also other materials of these higher classes like bronce gilded or also silver gilded before 1916, but only as private purchased pieces ("Spangenstücke") Regards, Komtur.
    12. A very nice 3rd modell made by the primus inter pares HOSSAUER Regards, Komtur.
    13. I would make an offer, but unfortunately this bar is not of my spezial interest and another point is the custom makes a 19% plus for me. Regards, Komtur.
    14. I never said, it is RIGHT to split up a medal bar, because it isn´t from MY POINT OF VIEW. But it is not wrong or moral dubious for about 99 % of humans on earth and it is NOWHERE an criminal act. We know, what a medalbar can tell about history or a person and we should give this knowledge to others. May be some more people then care about these things. But in MHO we can not assume, that all the others around have our knowledge or our point of view to compare a medalbar with a shrine or Egyptian antiquities. Kind regards, Komtur.
    15. That exactly I wrote her. Therfore it makes nowadays no sense to sell the single decorations. To split such a group is very very very sad for us collectors, especially if we are interested in bars, but it is NOT a criminal behavior in human society Regards, Komtur.
    16. As far as I know the "S.F.S." of Samuel Friedeberg & Söhne should be engraved, but may be I missunderstand the meaning of "stamped" Regards, Komtur.
    17. For the regulations in imperial Germany of 1906 there is a summary of official rules by Prof. Dr. Georg Epstein, who also published the Deutscher Ordens Almanach. It is probable that the regulations for imperial Germany untill 1918 with the WWI decorations inklusive EK2 1914 are similar to these described in this 55 pages booklet. For most of the smaller German states there were no official regulations. Regards, Komtur.
