    1. ?Wot, no Klingon order of the Three Heads with Oakleaves, and crossed laser stun guns?? Alex
    2. Obviously a very dedicated soldier recognised by the Kaiser for such heroic deeds (It's obviously a Photoshop pun, intended to highlight the various spurious bars which seem to be appearing.), however no doubt one is bound to appear on E-bay at some stage I'm sure. I suppose I could have added the 1870,1939, 1957 versions of the EK at the same time to recognise his extremely long service! regards Alex K
    3. Perhaps this could pass muster
    4. So you could create your own "Rack" to order from original medals I believe from other threads, that these are coming out of Austria amongst other places Alex
    5. Quite likely, the medals I'm sure are genuine as there are thousands around,? but the bars, ???? regards Alex
    6. Hi Hendrik thanks for the clarification regards Alex
    7. Looking at it, it sort of looks "Fuzzy", I may be wrong but I'd pass, pin looks wrong also
    8. I did have it, I'll need to look into my archive info, quite an interesting site. Oops didn't see the earlier post, that was the one I was thinking about
    9. Interesting that, I didn't know. Would that also apply to the Legion D'Honneur? The reason for the question is that there are numerous "Presentation" photo's of the LDH and other medals, I would have thought that some at least must have been "Official" Post 1918 Imperial awards makes sense as after 1918, they basically didn't exist regards
    10. Hi Hendrik, thanks for that interesting information, when you say privately manufactured, I assume that they were not official, and as such could they be classed as fakes? regards Alex
    11. Hi, I've only ever seen them in bronze, here's mine for comparision regards Alex
    12. Thankyou. There will always be some "poetic licence" when doing these things but I certainly like to pay attention to uniform/insignia details, facial colourizations is a bit more difficult and subjective, but studying colour photo's of actual people of similar age or nationality give some pointers. (The chair may well have been green!!) Alex K
    13. Thanks for the complement. It always helps when you have a good sharp image to work on. Funnilly enough the hardest part was his medal rack, trying to unravel the various shades of Black, grey, white to ensure that as far as possible the colours and order were correct. regards Alex
    14. Something a bit different for me and a bit of a challenge, Hungarian Ambassador Eugen Ratz, My thanks to Hunyadi and Rick Research who gave me some good pointers as to uniform and medal bar details regards Alex K
    15. Thanks for the quick reply, regards Alex
    16. Anyone recognise this? appears to be a maltese cross with a Hungarian? crown on the front, suggesteing Hungarian or Austro-Hungarian origin, any help appreciated
    17. Hi Lilo, thanks for the link, nice badges regards Alex
    18. Fantastically simple and striking award, as you say, don't see many, thanks for posting regards Alex
    19. Thanks once again regards Alex
    20. One more annoying request, anyone identify the medals on his spange, I recognise a few but others are a mystery. regards Alex
    21. I've had another think, and it COULD be British as it appears to resemble a typical British medal case, The indentaion could well have come from the medal with which it was purchased. As to what medal came in it originally I don't know. Most would have had the name of the medal on the front, perhaps a civilian decoration of some sort. regards
    22. From the photo of the interior, a circular medal, surmounted by a crown and a Tri-fold ribbon?, not British in my opinion, could well be Austro-Hungarian Alex
    23. Makes a very nice display. What's the badge above the EKI ? thanks
