    1. I admit I would also like to know, perhaps our B/W guru's on medal spanges could identify regards
    2. You're quite right a nasty piece of work. BTW for those interested, here's the full image, of the internet, I believe it's listed as public domain. regards
    3. Excellent piece of info, thanks for the efforts everyone regards Alex K
    4. Isn't the crown Imperial Prussian which would confirm that it is German in origin? in which case my exploration of Austrian/Hungarian origiin is flawed!! Regards
    5. Found numerous similar ones but not the one in question so far.
    6. Does anyone recognise the attached imperial flying decoration worn by Artur Greiser?, and if so any colour photo's of the award? any help appreciated. regards Alex K
    7. I also agree with others on the EK11, 1914-18 period, and in my view dissassembled, front ground down and then re-assembled/Soldered, with some later painting touch up. The RAO looks to me to be a beautiful example however regards Alex Edit, in actual fact looking at the Oaks on the EKII, they have a very S & L look about them so I suspect the EKII is a lot younger than 1914-19 IMHO
    8. Hi, thanks the link would be helpful, always nice to have several options on file regards Alex K
    9. Update, Medal returned and repaired to a very high standard, most pleased, (Except possibly for the wait, extended Xmas leave I understand,) would recommend GA Medals for those who require any repairs carrying out. attached, the re-guilded part is a bit shiny as you would expect but will tarnish in time regards Alex K
    10. Quite right, L73 never existed. Unfortunately, you may have a Floch Fake regards Alex K edit, looks liike L73 to me, I've enhanced it a little
    11. Thanks for the replies and alternative suggestions, I just have to get my original damaged medal back!! regards Alex
    12. Hi Anyone know whats happening at gamedals.co.uk.I posted my damaged medal to him in october, received confirmation that he had received it with subsequent e-mails about it's condition and since 24/10/2008 heard nothing other than an acknowledgement that he had received the damaged decoration. Have I been spooked? It seems a long time to ?wait for a response regards Alex K
    13. Good point, if it's a 1939 decoration and also the EKII ribbon, in his button hole he must have fought some combat, don't know about any kills. I may just enquire. regards Alex
    14. Looks very much like mine, although I keep my boxes under the bed . These days the average moronic burgler and thief looks for Ipods, DVD's mobiles and the like and wouldn't recognise a gong if it landed on their heads. I actually had the experience where my workroom was adorned with framed, mounted medal displays on the wall and the git only took a cheap camcorder and ignored the rest. Alex k
    15. Hi I posted this in the general TR awards section and was recommended to post it here Does anyone know more about the little badge on heydrichs uniform? thanks http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3340...mp;#entry314205
    16. Thanks for the info so far, I'll re-post in the Luftwaffe section regards Alex
    17. Hi Thanks Rick for the speedy reply. So it's a sort of unofficial "Boys club badge" rather than an official award. Don't suppose you've got any colour photo's of the piece to see what it looks like . I know he was an accomplished pilot and actually flew sorties in his earlier days. Did other Luftwaffe squadrons have similar badges? regards Alex K
    18. Does anyone know what the attached badge or award is on Heydrichs uniform? any help appreciated regards Alex K
    19. No you've missed nothing, quite a nice example really. regards Alex
    20. In my opinion genuine, compare with mine I posted earlier. regards Alex
    21. At the moment, I am still learning the ropes so tend to keep the subjects fairly simple, Most of my subjects are head and shoulder portraits, albiet, TR as I am familiar with the uniforms and decorations which in the end are very easy to do. The hard part is recreating realistic flesh tones and facial features. I hope to expand when I have sufficient knowledge and confidence to colour other periods. Meanwhile one addition, which I have also posted on another site. Franz Ritter Von Leeb. (Scary Eyes!) at the same time the man voted as the scariest to look at in Germany during the war, Hugo von Sperrle Regards Alex K
    22. One word, AMAZING, particularly the first one, well done edit, Hi Peter didn't spot your earlier posts, they're all good regards Alex K
