    1. A pic of a first place medal recipient 2nd place recipients Sorry, no close up yet...
    2. My first look at the tank biathlon medals. Info has proven a bit difficult to find. Thay hang from a white silk neck ribbon.
    3. My first look of the new medal ""Chief Marshal of Aviation Kutakhov"", best, actually only pic I've found so far. Chief Marshal of Aviation Kutakhov
    4. Beautiful!
    5. Andreas, A musician "before" and/or "after" the war, but with a Knight of the Légion d'Honneur, Médaille Militaire, Croix de Guerre and Croix du Combattant... I very much doubt he served in that capacity during the war. Unless his baton had a bayonette fixture on it?
    6. Well I'll be darned, I found 1 of them. Definitely a musician or kapellmeister. The center ribbon in the 4th row is a music related associative medal. CLICK HERE Page 1 of the associative medals, 8th row down at far left, Médaille des Sociétés Musicales, or Page 3 of the associative medals, 19th row at far left, Médaille des Confédérations Musicales. or Page 4 of the associative medals, 15th row at far left, Médaille de la Confédération Musicale de France They all have the same ribbon. I'd bet the very last ribbon is probably one of these also with the blue faded. ADDENDA : Confirmation here And HERE
    7. I did not know that, great info! Makes the entire ribbon rack look OK. Bison, think the last 3 are music related medals from bands or church choirs?
    8. The Santé Publique ribbon is blue, this is purple, even faded... Still looks purple but heh, anything's possible.
    9. I believe the ribbon immediately following the Academic Palms is for the Honour Medal for Chorus and Musical Societies I have a few of them and the ribbons faded to exactly the colours seen on your ribbon bar. See here I am unfortunately unable to ID the last 3. Addenda: I just noticed... Duh. The Academic Palms ribbon should be the 1st one in the 2nd row immediately following the Croix de Guerre. That's a booboo...
    10. First of all, judging by the other awards, I'd bet good money the very first ribbon is not for the Order of Social Merite but in fact a baddly faded Médaille Militaire (military medal) ribbon. Secondly, the ribbon immediatly after the wounded insignia ribbon I believe to be for the Syria-Cilicia commemorative medal. Sorry, I am completely unfamiliar with the lower 3...
    11. WOW! Von Staufenberg looks awesome! With the black background, I first thought it was a painting or an artist's drawing .
    12. Fascinating... A tank delivery regiment... Never heard of such a unit before.
    13. That a 2nd Empire piece... Looks like it was painted...
    14. Here's the new Medal "For Service in Naval Surface Forces" straight in from Moscow. I'm still looking for the complete ministerial order...
    15. All (and only) Defense Ministry ribbons have the yellow left half with a single or double black edged stripe(s). Single black edge stripe is a regular award, double edge stripes mean a commemorative or honorary award. The only department also using the edge black stripes on yellow half is the Office for Chemical Disarmament which used to be under the Defense Ministry. Some other ministries and departments also do this to visually enhance theit awards. The Foreign Intelligence Service has a yellow bordered light blue left half. The more recent FSB and FSO awards' ribbons have a yellow (sometimes white) bordered darker blue half. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2014/post-3030-0-62881600-1416959584.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_11_2014/post-3030-0-55989000-1416959617.jpg

    17. Here's our first look at the newly established Medal "Signal Corps Marshal Peresypkin". Still seeking the establishment order. CLICK ON PIC FOR FULL SIZE Not a bad likeness. Signal Corps Marshal Peresypkin
    18. It's actually in great shape! Nice find... Mine didn't age that well unfortunately...
    19. Looking forward to it!
    20. Beautiful, incredibly interesting and historical. Thanks for sharing!
    21. Another recent addition to the already quite extensive and diverse list of Russian Defense Ministry awards, the breast decoration "For the best scientific work" awarded in 3 classes. It was established on 30 July 2013 by ministerial order 565 (still trying to find it). On the drawing at far right is the design of their common reverse. CLICK ON PIC FOR FULL SIZE
