    2. rear, and in case you didn't know the Fw 189 Uhu has two Argus aircraft engines
    3. Next is my Focke-Wulf Fw 189 Uhu (Owl), one of my favourite looking Luftwaffe aircraft - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fw_189

    5. An Erinnerungsmedaille des IX. Armeekorps, 1866-1918?
    6. Hi Uwe, I found this over at Kai Winkler, I actually have an identical example, but without ribbon, (I always wondered what sort of ribbon went on my shooting medal, I've had it for years), and it wasn't until you told me that the shooting clubs use green and white ribbon that I started to look out for it. I have learnt something else, thanks
    7. Hello gents, I haven't seen one of these before, does anyone know what it is called? I'm not sure which is the front or the back, I'm guessing the IX is the rear? Would that indicate 9 years membership? Could anyone tell me what the dates 1866-1918 would indicate? Thanks!
    8. It looks black and white underneath, that's why I thought it was an EK2 ribbon, what do you think? Does the blue backing signify anything?
    9. Hi Matt At first I always thought it was an EK2 ribbon, and that the white was stained or dirty. I've had it for years and never really looked hard at it, but when I saw it on screen, I did notice it was blue. Is this significant? Here's the rear
    10. Thanks yet again Uwe, interesting link, and I'll think I'll pass on it, seeing as it COULD be a loyal membership medal for the local choral society :)
    11. Thanks zorg, I wonder if I sent them a photo of the medal, whether they could tell me what it was for?
    12. Nice Ordensspange Lambert, and thanks for the link Matt, I spent a lot of time reading it, and I'll have to return to it. Here is one of my EK2/Frontkämpfer Ordensspange
    13. Thank you Uwe and Zorg for your thoughts. I thought it was Saxe-Coburg-Gotha because of the colours and the maker was from Coburg. Would shooting clubs have used the term 25 years loyal membership Uwe? I am no expert by any means, but that does sound like a veterans type term. I have that on a few of my veterans membership badges.
    14. I saw this on the net, but the seller is uncertain of what it is. Any clues gents? 25 year service award? Would the bow indicate it is for a woman? Does 35 euros seem reasonable? I checked Medal/Medaille but they have no items from Saxe-Coburg-Gotha for me to check against.
    15. Thank you Andreas! This is the photo from the sale, when it arrives I will take a photo showing ribbons number six and seven more clearly. I appreciate your help here! On another note, would it have been possible for someone to have earned medals from all those different states/countries?
    16. Thanks Matt, I just noticed your signature, do you have one of these?
    17. Thanks Matt! Is there any English text articles regarding the correct rulings for German medal bars that you know of?
