    3. No problem isonzo BTW, your shield's twin......
    4. Sorry...you're right 3 prongs is spot on. Was thinking of the Zinc Cholm..... Double clothed as well......Top draw shield Peter
    5. The die flaws on the original shields are present on your one....nice shield..... . If possible could you post scans of the shield and the cloth. Also the reverse of the shield as well... Peter BTW how can you own a lovely shield like this one and not know whether it's a fake or not.....

    7. Opinions from another forum....hope this helps http://www.germancombatawards.com/thread.php?threadid=12797
    8. Possible...or it's an original that's been polished up. As I say, very difficult to tell with these pics. Nes....with your permission, I'll start a thread on another forum and we'll see what the verdict is over there. Problem is, unless the shield is posted like this one below, it's a tough one to call. Gut reaction is, it's a copy.....
    9. I think it would help if we could see a decent scan of the shield without the glare. The shield in the link I pasted may not be the same as your's. Peter
    10. Hi Nesredep......Pics aren't great but I'm assuming it's the same as this type in the link. The J in 'KRYMSKAJA' tend to give this one away but if possible post better head on scans. KR......Peter http://www.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/sho...ht=Kuban+shield
    11. A copy Nesredep......sorry KR......Peter
    12. Great stuff Stijn.....very interesting research on the Cholm pocket and the Glider pilots who took part in it. Best....Peter
    13. Definately the small '4' fake......Peter
    14. Thanks Frode, it's taken me a long time too find this Tombak version. KR.........Peter
    15. Just received this in the post along with the Photo..... :P
    16. Nice shield...nothing wrong with that one. I should get my long awaited Tombak version of your shield in the next couple of days. I'll post it when it lands. Peter
    17. Very soft detail on the shield. I've seen this type in solid brass which didn't exist. This looks to be that type. Maybe Nesredep could tell us what the shield's made from. Best......Peter
    18. Agreed....definitely a copy IMO.... Peter
    19. Cheers Simon....A nice Doc and one I'd like to own, but as you say, a bit pricey, especially in this climate. Peter
    20. Nice doc Simon....I see there's a Lappland Uboat Doc on e-medals for $1300. What do you think of it. KR........Peter
    21. Great Photo's Nesderep...... Here's the KM shield Peter linked on the WAF site. These shields are getting more difficult to find these days. Best......Peter
    22. Great shields....I agree, the KM Narvik is one of my favorite shields , equal to a Cholm.....well nearly.. Peter
    23. I just wish I could find one...here's a Narvik I've never posted. Mint, but the I think the Zinc's absorbing the Gilt wash. Peter
