Hi Joe....I've had a search through my books as well and can't find any info on this emblem. As you and Martin have said, possibly U-Boat (Hogels book as good as it is, isn't a complete work) or from a surface vessel unit.

Hi Andreas..interesting piece. Not the emblem Hogel show's in his book for U-29. That's not to say it isn't period, any providence on this one and can we see a bigger pic or scan of the emblem.

Thanks Erik...I think you're right. Possibly safer with the second type but I think I'll go for the 3 prong version mainly because it's retained its gilt finish... Interested to know what the base metal is on this one.

Hi Guys....I'm on the hunt for a nice original (Pre 45) Watch Officers badge. I've found a couple, the best one still retaining the gilt finish has 3 prongs. Question is, is this one wartime produced. Or is the second one I've posted a better example.
