Dete replied to Chris Boonzaier's topic in Germany: All Eras: The Iron Cross
Hi Rick, unfortunately no date on this one. But i also have all his other award docs. Here is a pic of his bar. Best regards Detlev -
Hello, thx to the research gnomes here in the forum, i ve left only one group in my collection without knowing who the original wearer was. From the combination of the awards i think it s impossible to find it out. But the group comes with a list of names of family members who took part in WW1 and WW2. So i don t know, could it be possible to identify the man with the given names? Also i ve a nice picture of him wearing the Feldspange. Some other collectors thinking that he is wearing the ribbon of the blood order on the photo, which i don t think. Maybe it s the romanian award. here are the names from the list which i think could be him. Oberst Fritz von Otto, kia 23.4.1942 Major Robert Baerwald Major Eugen Wahl Wilhelm Böhler thx in advance for any help Best regards Detlev

Hi, i just found this thread and would like to add this one. Not in the best condition, but still nice. Best regards Detlev -
Hello, recently i could acquire this nice hessian bar from another collector. I was already looking for a long time for one with a Philipsorden with swords. So, i always try at least to understand a bit how the research for a name is done and then try to investigate by my own with my very limited sources. Looking at this bar, i would guess that it must belong to a prussian officer of the VII or VIII army corp. Getting the Philipsorden prob. as a young Leutnant etc. in the 1870/71 war. Still in service 1897. If i would have the sources, i would look at the names of the holder of the Philipsorden 1st class with swords and compare them with the names of the regimens in the ranglist around 1871. maybe complete nonsense, but learning by doing. So if this one is possible to research, i would be very grateful. best regards Detlev

Hello, thx very much for this great offer. I would like to add these "two". When i bought them i thought they belonged to two different persons. Later the miniature chain was found and now i think it might be that the wearer just split it up in one for his war duties and the other one. However is there an identification possible with these awards. Best regards Detlev

Hello, i was able to buy this wonderful bar from another collector. I wonder if some of the specialists here are willing to help to identify the man behind the awards. I already tried by going through the 1914 ranglist of IR91 but without any success. Also i ve a pic from the seller showing his later feldspange with the HOH3X, maybe this could help. Thx in advance.
