    1. Gentlemen, Tito's yachts: Primorka used to visit island Brioni where he spent weeks in sommer. Galeb used during President's voyage to India and Burma 1954/55.
    2. Lieber Christian, I checked again and found out that there are some BU1 where you will find the same 'problem' as in this order. The laurel wreath which should be gilded look like normal silver. I found it in one very similiar BU1 with 5 torches, two rivet construction converted to pinback with 'lock'. I think that Bryan is right and this order is OK. best regards waldemar
    3. Gentlemen, I showed you badge for Yugoslavian Participants of October Revolution 1917. I am still trying to get more information on that October Revolution badge. The medal is known (that one struck in the Belgrade mint in 4 varieties - in Serbian, Croatian, Slovenian and Macedonian languages), but the badge is something curious. Hier you can see two variants with cirilic and latin letters.
    4. Not yet, I have no good equipment in order to provide these data. Sorry. Generally there should be no 5torches order made from tomback. Only 6torches. As far I know in all orders central part is made from tombac gilded in 1st and 2nd class and silvered in 3rd class. Only star could be made from silver or tombac, as I already posted earlier. Maybe somebody from forum can post the weight of these orders. regards waldemar
    5. I think you are right Bryan, Do you think that we will see 6torches with screw-back? best regards waldemar
    6. Thank you Anatoly for sharing your lovlies with us. best regards waldemar
    7. Gordon, as far I know, the position of hallmarks on image in posting #3 is typical, orders made from silvered tombac have no hallmarks. But would not bet on it. best regards waldemar
    8. Congratulation Valuk, very rare order. There is another variant, order granted to female awardees. waldemar
    9. It means 'Griesbach i Knaus' and it was predecessor of IKOM. waldemar
    10. Gentlemen, I was offered lately this intersting Order of Brotherhood and Unity (BU) 1CL. On avers you see 6 torches it means it was made after 1963. But on reverse you can see early, first type of pin-back made by IKOM. Usually you will find this type of pin back in order which were converted from screw-back. But in that case you will see serial number. I know that there are order of BU 1CL with 5 torches and serial number in 2000 range. Does it mean that after 1963 still this type of pin-back was made or that this order was manufactured before 1963 as 5torches version and later it was changed to 6 torches? The laurel wreath should be gilded, we should see difference between wreath and other silver part of order. As we know, with the time many order lost the class information on reverse. Could it be that we see hier 5 torches BU 2CL which was remanufactured to 6 torches BU 1CL? What is your opinion? best regards waldemar
    11. Thank You SasaYu, There are some drawns of some early OMD in the book of Mr. Rudez, which I would like to show to others. After CCR will be clearified we can do this hopefully. best regards waldemar
    12. Dear SaSaYU, Thank you for your contribution to this book, sometimes I had difficulties to understand something, since I don?t speak Serbo-Croatian, and you helped me. As you know, we have a separate thread ?Book?. There was a discussion what books do we use. If you look at that discussion you will find out that two books were mentioned: Known book ?Yugoslavia Army Insignia & Decorations 1918 ? 1990? Furlan/Bjelos in English.orden_master has mentioned that there is a 3. book from Molinar Exhibiton in Serbo-Croatian.New book of Mr. Velitschko in Russian. The existence of no other book was mentioned If you look at this discussion you will get impression that there are no other books which covers this area. I was happy and astonished to discover that of course there are other books which are dealing with Ex-YU OMD. I could even buy an excellent book ?Odlikovanja Socijalisticke Federativne Republike Jugoslavije? author - Stojan Rudez. Even Sojan Rudez who was once chief of order office describes in his book only official OMDs with exception of ?Spomenica 1941?. All commemorative medals were not described, even not mentioned. He describes many types but still there are known types of OMD which were not mentioned in his book. And of course there is no typology, with all types and variants. Substantial extension and update of knowledge is necessary. I?m happy that you too have this book which was released (2.000 books) in 1987 in Belgrade in Serbo-Croatian Language. It was hard work to translate this description for somebody who doesn?t speak Serbo-Croatian. Hopefully is this translation correct. Of course I would like to refer to official documents as Sluzebni List but unfortunately I have no access to all of them. It would be great help for all of us to have such book in English, since not of us could have access to such limited resources and not all of us can read Serbo-Croatian. There is a need for reference book which covers systematic whole spectrum, it means all orders, medals and in volume 3 all badges. To leave the status quo unchanged is not the alternative. Thank you for your comment, of course I try to get in touch with Mr. Rudez and to invite him to work on this book. My request to related government agency is still open. I hope that all legal restriction will be clarified soon. And if Mr. Rudez is still alive maybe he can contribute new ideas. 13. Thank You Sasa, it is interesting that offical statue of order describes that an award use patinated metal(gold, silver,...). Have you seeen any other variations? regards waldemar
    14. Pages 112 - 114 Current Status - Englisch will be corrected, in Statue of order is word 'PATINIRANOG' - I have no idea what could it be. Still missing: Order of National Liberation screw-back converted by ZIN-KOVNICA to pin-back (on needle 'ZIN-KOVNICA').
    15. The two hallmarks are at 1030. I think, screw without IKOM Brand were made in 1945/46 by Brother Knaus (BK), after nationalisation in middle 1946 B&K was renamed to IKOM. From that time we have IKOM Brand on screw. I think that this is early variant made by IKOM. But knows it 100%? I will post other two earlier types and story about this order. I will put your order into it.Then we will have all known types and variations. best regards waldemar
    16. Thank you Anatoly, Even on the first screw-back (screw without IKOM brand) there are no hallmarks. I'm wondering if it is silver? I know that they used tombac many times. What do you think, what metal is it? There is another variation of screw-back, silver and IKOM brand on screw. I will post it later. best regards waldemar
    17. Congratulation Anatoly, What meatl is it? silver? I can not see hallmarks. best regards waldemar
    18. Anatoly, nice to her from you. The fact, that we haven't seen particular variation could mean a - its a myth b - this item is very rare One week ago I saw for the first time Order of Partisan Star 2nd class (screw-back converted to pin-back). The reason I looked for this type was my conviction that at that time almost all screw-back were converted to pin-back. And we saw that there is really such order. Coming back to Medal for People's Merit: I think that we will see such medal. I know that Velitschko write about it in his book. But there are clear signs for that: look for the name of this order printed on issuing box shown us by Bryan at the beginning of this thread. Can you see the difference: the name of order was changed from '...ZASLUGE...' to '...ZASLUGA...'. This happend in 1973. I know that they were 'flexible' and put medal with text '..ZASLUGE..' into box with name '..ZASLUGA..' but they had 19 years to correct it. And therefore I think that we will see such medal with word '..ZASLUGA..'. Lets see. waldemar
    19. Gordon, there is another variation of this order. The word "ZASLUGE" was changed to "ZASLUGA" in some later manufactured medals. I haven't seen this variation, I can even tell you the type of used letter: latin or cyrilic. It would be intersting to see this variation. waldemar
