    1. Ahhhhh I forgot................. could you please give her my adress - maybe she wants to buy something soon again :P
    2. Hi Brian, I think it is a good group without any panic..... Maybe the Württemberger in last place was in last place before he got the police award and then he changed it in the actual "right position" , with some additional centimetres to the bar.... to save money instead of ordering a new bar... no , no problem with that bar and with the women who bought it :P
    3. You know what I mean Sascha........ it is always not easy to explain things in english without making more confuse..... I just wanted to make clear that we are talking about the small medal that was given to foreigners in ww1 - not the bigger one of the "same style" that german troops got during the colonial wars , the MEZ2 ..... the more I write the more I see that the confusion is growing.... OK , reset and restart............... GREAT picture with a not often seen award on pics !!! And thanks for posting the other ones....very nice collection of these cool pics!!!!!
    4. Absolutely great picture !!! That`s the first bulgarian soldier I have ever seen with a german Kriegerverdienstmedaille (reduced size for foreigners) !!! And - what ribbon is that halfmoon on????
    5. ribbon N°4 is wrong for the Flanderncross , or the cross wrong for the ribbon.... Yes it looks superclean......and I think the bavarian MVO is a too high class for the rest , but that must say others....
    6. If a KO2X on the BLUE ribbon is worn by a foreign officer the RAO2 is one of the last things that come in my mind... I would guess that the second neck order should be one of his home country , maybe Bulgaria or Turkey or Austria....but not a second prussian / german order - but this is and will stay some kind of quiz show , you will never know for shure...
    7. Hi Chip, I think we have a little misunderstanding.... my photo is of course a german , he is known by name etc.... but I think about the guy in post N°1 - he is not clear enough for me with that coat - is he german?
    8. Maybe N°1 is one of these guys.... but to be honest , from this picture I am not 100% shure if he is a german.....I just can guess that other countries had similar uniforms....
    9. Winfried , 100% NOT !!! I can show you a lot of pictures of officers wearing an iron cross in the buttonhole years and years after the war and with many other orders and awards received in the meanwhile.
    10. Clever.........posting the reverse while I am writing... OK, no specific club or association on the reverse....
    11. Hi Brian, bar looks good and from that time.... the cross in last place is a private cross of a military club , maybe there is something written on the reverse side on the crossarms? Either he had the saxon long service medal and changed it against the cross or he just wanted to mount his club cross and took a nice green-white saxon ribbon for that.... only one small thing to correct you: the Friedrich August medal was never for officers , it was a pure enlisted men (bronze) and NCO (silver) award.... the only possibility when you see a officer wearing a Friedrich August medal is that he went through the ranks and got the FAM as Feldwebel for example and was then promoted as Offiziersstellvertreter , Feldwebelleutnant or something like that....now in an officer rank he could still wear his FAM together then with officer awards , maybe a Albrecht-order cheers Heiko
    12. Scott , the Baden medal alone is a great thing to have... I would give it a TRY
    13. Thank you very much Claudio - that indicates war service and EK2 + EK1 on his list.... I have this one , from the medal bar it dates 1908 as commander of Jäger Bataillon 7
    14. OK..........now let`s get back to the threads title..... A Hauptmann you would see better , or? There must be 2 washed out pips.... because the only other candidate for the photo at the same time with the same award is a Hauptmann............. I think I go for the Oberleutnant / Premier lieutenant with one not to see pip.... ;)
    15. OK............. as we say in germany : Butter bei die Fische (butter to the fishes (something like : here is the complete truth ) ) The problem is that this photo is from Aachen , in Aachen is the IR40 , it is Hohenzollern regiment and he wears a Hohenzollern award , the next problem is that this photo is dated 1898 with a photographers date stamp........... When you have a year and a unit and awards that fit the unit BUT in that year you don`t have any Leutnant with that award in the regiment ??? !!!! NOW??? The only man in sight is Premier Lieutenant Bessel with HEK3 - but´then there must be one star on the epeaulett..... Anyone any idea who this can be???
    16. Scott , now that one is a real cracker !!! Great Baden DSWA bar !!! Back to the beginning.... the Baden medal is on the CIVIL ribbon and the name of the "missing" Baden campaign medal is FELDDIENSTAUSZEICHNUNG (field service award) - I think there are a number of posibilities for a man at home to get this combination This thin needle looks a very bit homemade... anything glowing? the yellow thread on the back? from the front it looks really good....
    17. Simple question................... or not? This is a officer of Füsilier Regiment Fürst Karl Anton von Hohenzollern (Hohenzollernsches) Nr.40 in Aachen The question is : is it a Oberleutnant or a Hauptmann - or am I completely wrong..... I can`t see any stars on the Epeaulette.....but for a special reason it should be a Oberleutnant or Hauptmann... What can you see?
    18. This Baden medal is one of the coolest things you can have in your hands - you will enjoy touching it !!! The combination is no problem of course... but I would like to see that needle system a bit bigger....
    19. Hello again with another one of the Jäger und Schützenfraktion.... Who has informations about Oberst Graf Finck von Finckenstein for the years 1914 +++++ ? What did he in the great war , orders , regiments , death ??? I know there are some guys out there with the same name and the same rank in 1914 - I am talking about the one who was commander of Kaiser Alexander Garde Grenadier Regiment Nr.1 in 1914 Rest of his life he was in Jäger Bataillon 7 , Garde Jäger Bataillon and Garde Schützen Bataillon......... but what did he during ww1??? thanks for all help
    20. Thank you very much Daniel !!! Another one of the hunting guys now in a new thread...
    21. Ohhhhhhhhhhh YES we do !!! Rudi , could you please make a good closeup scan only of the centre medaillon with the hessian lion , it looks so great made on this order....
    22. VERY nice group Josef !!! Adding things is always a bit like a lotterie - but I think he should have got a IC1 , so why not.... very nice display as well !!!
