    1. Micha, but you don`t have all the different ribbons, or??? I am looking for years now for original crosses + ribbon for these special editions like the ribbon for "Reservetruppen" or the ribbon for "?rzte und Seelsorger".... never seen, must be very rare!!!!
    2. That`s another type of award document The two that I know are written "F?r Kriegsverdienste in der Heimat AM SCHWARZ-WEI?EN BANDE" !!!
    3. just a short note after a very intensive discussion on a german forum..... I have read the Stiftungsurkunde of the Ehrenkreuz f?r Frontk?mpfer and the Ehrenkreuz f?r Kriegsteilnehmer (Hindenburg with and without swords) very carefully - not all the medal bars with EK2 black-white and Hindenburg without swords are HOMEFRONT EK2`s - NO NO It is stated in the document that every soldier that made ONE BATTLE, ONE FIGHT, ONE SIEGE OR ONE ATTACK should get the Hindenburg with swords - ALL OTHERS (soldiers and civillians connected to the war) should get the Hindenburg without swords. So you could get a REGULAR EK2 on black-white for some service near to the front - but you never heard a shot within a mile : Hindenburg WITHOUT swords... Now you will never know if it is a homefront EK2 without seeing the award document, and I have seen only 2 in my life for the homefront EK2.....
    4. Micha, no old ribbon in stock but this should it be, 1866 ribbon for non-combattants Heiko
    5. AHHRRGG.... please don`t cut this beautiful chain into pieces only for my pleasure....
    6. exactly my words... we had discussed this photo on a german forum some time ago. A high decorated officer wearing proudly an award from one state for fighting against another state he is proudly wearing awards from... That`s why I love collecting medal bars and not so complicated things like stamps...
    7. but if he wears his sworded lion in front of all he must be a truly proud BADENSER (sorry Sascha...) it is the same with the two twm`s as with the german colonial lion badges - sometimes they wear both - one on the bar and one one the breast... the most logical I can see in this is that he must have been very proud of his times in turkish service...
    8. Ahhh that`s no fight - that`s just a meeting of people with the same intensity on the same object of interest...
    9. Ah the General is on board - welcome Aron Two of the coolest 1870 mini clasps I have ever seen - great art !!!! only the ribbon of Tony`s seems to be new... but who interests the ribbon having such a clasp
    10. I think it is a 15mm or 16mm miniature medal, then it is a REAL miniature clasp in great condition. Often they put full size clasps on mini bars, but the real miniature battle clasps are much more rare than the big ones. And this is a very nice piece of good quality -AND last but not least: Villiers is one of the rare clasps, not often seen....
    11. very interesting... Paul, do you have any informations that Godet has EVER been a "AG" in their history?
    12. Why making copies from other forums, ask Christian for pictures and informations on his bar directly in this forum here... I am not shure if we should talk about fakes because of a needle system in this case... look at the backing of ALL those G&W bars shown here - they all look nearly like each other : their own firm style...
    13. Stogie, I have seen these tags several times but not very often... how rare they are you can see as I have NOT EVEN 1 in my collection...
    14. I agree with Red, this should be the ribbon for the Berner Marsch in swizerland. I had one on a ribbon bar some years ago.... but I would say the KVK2 ribbon should move after EK and BVK in front of the Flak Badges and the africa medal should move in front of the Berner Marsch....
    15. That`s not the problem... there were 2 german wound badges, one for the navy (black, silver, gold) and one for the army AND the colonial troops (black, silver, gold). So the seller is right when he guesses that this wound badge could have been given to a colonial soldier BUT he says that it IS from the colonies - and that`s a point he can only show with the award document. So it is no fake but a not very gentlemanlike way to push up the price...
    16. may I ask a simple question as I do not know much about the Zanzibar order system... does the class of this Zanzibar order on this bar go together with the 4th class RAO??? So we have someone between 1870 and 1897 (no 70/71 and no Centenarmedal) with a swords award 4th class (Leutnant,Oberleutnant or something like this) for actions in Zanzibar, DOA or somewhere there and a 25y service cross ( I know war years count double) - I think it is impossible, or? Long service, low rank and not too much years of war in this very small period.....
    17. Sometimes the dutch coast is closer to Turkey than some think.... Yes, Stogie, we were ALL the underbidders on these things... there was a nice medal bar with RAO with bow when I remember right - I was just able to get some small things there, a EK2 and a mini RAO4 on lapelbow...
    18. Rick, what about KAPIT?NLEUTNANT WEDIG VON KEYSERLINGK ??? I have him in 1916 with KO4, EK2, BZ3bmE, MG3, OV3c, SA3b, WF3b - why not adding a Lyakat to this nice collection of awards...
    19. In my eyes the 57er bar is ok, but what makes me a bit nervous is that something like a REAL order (Bulgaria) comes AFTER something like a sports award and a swimming badge - foreign award or not, I would have put this one and the finish award in front of the "non-military" german awards... but the 57er ribbon bars are not far away from the legendary "Weimar madness"... nearly everything goes...
    20. David, thanks for the thread... there is one in that I am really talking about: the "cadillac" the silver Godet one with the 2 hooks - that`s the one I need the information for. You are talking about 400 - is this the total of all types? I have heard something like 27 ones of the OEK1414....
    21. Hello, is there anyone out there who can give me informations on the First class cross of Mecklenburg-Strelitz "F?r Tapferkeit" , "1914" , cross with needle and 2 hooks, made of silver, OEK N?1414, awarded 1915-17 and maybe of it`s evil twin too: OEK N?1414/1 : awarded 1917-18 , made of cheaper material What interests me is the number of awards given, I know it can`t be a lot.... and maybe some info on the value. Problem here is that in OEK is only given a "*" what means as much as "collectors price".... maybe someone has results from auctions... thanks in advance Heiko
