    1. Puh 50 years in Red Cross service ! I thought i looked like something from Bavaria , The ones I missed was duplicates of the 6 and 7 ribbon bar and a "button" with 7 ribbons if I remember right. This guy must have made some imprints in the Bavarian Red Cross history ? Fascinating All the best from Sweden Christer
    2. But our guy from the first world war didn?t stop there with 8 awards, nope he got two more (at least) Here is the last bar I got from him, the lower bar just cost me about 1,25 $ And now the ribbonbar maker freaked out totally... putting the KVM in first place... KVM - HEK - KVK - PrRK - PrRK Then what ???? ?????? - ????? - Austria - Hungary - Bulgaria What is the first and second award on the lower ribbon? Bavarian Red cross something ? Anyone has any suggestions The backside of theese two last one is rather interesting, has anyone seen this type of pin arrangment before , age ? All the best from Sweden Christer
    3. Now he must have been in service for sime time ? He gets the Kriegsverdienstkreuz (without swords ) And by some strange reason he places the Austrian WW1 medal in front of the Red cross medals ?? Well we now have a man with 8 !! Awards . quite impessing ribbonbar And now he has a14 mm height !! three different heights on three ribbon bars ..... talk about change... Christer
    4. This Medic or whatever he was stayed in service ? or was "reused" in the second world war He got the Kriegsverdienstmedallie , I feel like this medal wasn?t the most liked during the war years because you do not seei it so often on ribbonbars? At least our man now got 7 ! awards and in the right order ( he will get more sloppy later in war....) Now he wear the full size ribbon bar Christer
    5. Here is some ribbon bars who got into my mailbox yesterday , it was totally 8 auctions with ribbons to the same guy, I got 5 A special Thanks to Saschaw who tip me of this auction His first ribbonbar is with Honorcross non fighter - Preuss Red Cross II - Preuss Red cross III - Austria com medal - Hungary non fighter - Bulgaria non fighter Especially the Bulgarian and Hungary non fighter is cool because you dont see them so often , I belive that approx 200 000 Bulgarian war medals went to Germans but only 10 % ??? (I?m guessing) was on NC ribbon. I dont have a clue to how many Hungarian non fighter there was awarded. And of course the backside , I forgot to say that this ribbonbar is of the "half-height" style More to come ..... Christer
    6. Aha, Thanks Taz ! It was from the other side of the channel Christer

    10. This little beauty arrived today, I bought it without seeing the back because I love the Mecklenburg awards. BUT look what I found on the back ! Dark blue with a makers label G G Ulrich Nachfolger Hamburg To bad he didn?t have any more medals so he could be traced. Christer
    11. Hi, I got this photot in the mail today, nothing special but I thought when I bought it that he had a Sachsen Altenburg medal, but now I see that it is a Sachsen Weimar Eisenach General decoration in silver ? It seems to be marked on the back O Tolle I / 251 which I read as RIR 251 ? Erfurt 1916 I found a Otto Tolle who got the Sachsen Meiningen Kreuz fur Verdienst in Kriege 22.8.17 as Lt (d R ?) ArFernAbt 19 a Karlsruhe and since Erfurt is not far from Karlsruhe I wonder if this is the guy? Anyone ? Best regards Christer
    12. :jumping: Fantastic ! Thanks Glenn and Rick Its so good to have a name to a pic Christer
    13. I think I have show this pic before but it was before the excellent Lundstr?m/Krause books was published This officer has a Hohenzollern device on his ribbon swords/crown but where does he come from ? It says 255 on his shoulder boards , but I cant find anything about Inf Rgt 255 on the net, was it a preussian unit? what rank has he ? Wonder if I could find him in the Hohenzollern book Christer
    14. Hi ! Not a real uniform but at least a Uhlan ! Could anyone name the Rgt? I was guessing on Uhlan Rgt 20 but not sure Christer
    15. And here is another unlucky ship The El Biar from the Compagnie de Navigation Mixte a French shipping line wich trafficed the line Marseilles - Mediterranean and North African ports. El Biar was a small ship 4564 tons and built in 1927. She was torpedoed and sunk by aircraft 1944 (anyone who has more info about this?) I suppose it could have been German HE 111s or Italian aircrafts or even US /English if she was attacked before during the Wichy time ? Christer
    16. :jumping: Wow Great Items ! This collecting area just grows.... Here is two of my latest findings . SS City of Birmingham from the Ocean Steamship Company of Savannah or Savannah Line This ship was built in 1923 and had the same name as an ealier ship built in 1888. In June 30th 1942 she was torpedoed by the German sub U 202 and sunk, two passengers and seven crew members followed her down. Christer
    17. Thanks Chip and Rick , you are masters of the Old German language Here is another page in his pass maybe showing his strange travel from unteroffz to unteroffz It is like a detective work to read theese old docs And often a thrilling story behind them Christer
    18. Last that is written is from 1920 , I suppose this a release from the military ? I wonder how many Friedrich Kreuz there was awarded? Christer
    19. And the last entries for the war ..... Uhhhh this German hand writing I read and read and every time I read something completely different.... Christer
    20. The page where his service after 1915 is listed He should have a Wound badge in black I suppose ? Christer
    21. Aha ! That explains why this is a duplikat Milit?rpass (zweitschrift) fe was proably wounded and his ordinarie pass was destroyed? Here comes some more pics so maybe we can get his story together Christer First the front page , he was jahresklasse 1907
    22. Hi all, I have this Milit?rpass in my collection and discovered recently that he had got a Friedrich Kreuz in Aug 1915, I know that theese crosses wasnt handed out in many pieces during the war at least not this early ? I wonder what Rgt was he in ? Is there an Anhalt connection? There is a stamp from Inf Rgt 360 but the written says something about Ersatz Battl 14 ? Anyone ? Hes name is also hard to read but his last name is Nolte Christer
    23. Hi, here is a new ribbon bar , not very special at all, a Bavarian officer? First BMVK - EK II - LS hmm is this interesting?
