Resarching Death Plaque
christerd replied to christerd's topic in Great Britain: Orders, Gallantry, Campaign Medals
Thanks all for your help, after many hours of trying to read old German names and very very very seldom finding anything its feel like christmas when you actually can read something and get down to 5-6 candidates And that?s probably as close as I ever will get to this Peter Watt, its sad when you realize that most of the other soldiers whose ribbon bars I collect got home again and lived at least into the 1930s but all of the "Penny" recivers didn?t...... Thank you again for all help and all the best from Sweden Christer -

When the medals get Scarcer the names get longer Medal for Friendship and Co-Operation with the Peoples Republic of Bulgaria Instituted in December 1977 awarded to foreign nationals and organisations in small number ? I haven?t got any number of issued pieces but this is one of the scarce medals probably because they all went to foreginers ? Here in the really scarce box ! Designed by Marko Markov Christer -
I think this medal has been discussed earlier in the forum so I just show some pics Instituted May 1974 and awarded to people who participated in the War in Spain 1936-39 in the International Brigades I have been told that a total of 473 medals was awarded which makes this a really rare medal. Here is it with the orginal box Christer

Medal for Peace and Understanding with the Peoples Republic of Bulgaria When we are talking about long names , this is it. This is also one of the most difficult medals from P R B to get, if my info is right it has been awarded 30 !! Times Of course there would be some not awarded coming out from the mint after the breakdown of the Communist Republic but probably not many of theese was ever minted ? I have not seen any confirmed info about the 30 issued but it is really scarce The designer of this medal was Marko Markov Anyone seen a award doc for one of theese? Christer

Here is the other Ministry of Transport Medal, for Merit this time. Instituted in May 1974 and awarded to both civilian and military personal for merits. This medal is also somewhat less common, but I don?t have any info on numbers issued. Design by Rayco Peev and Dimitar Belev Very nice and well done medal.

Loong name for this one I thought I would go through some of the medals not shown in this sub forum before, theese are some of the more rare ones. I make a new thread for each one so its easier to make comments and add info later. The medal was instituted in May 1974, this medal seems to be harder to find than most of the other jubilee medals. I dont have any number of issued pieces. Christer
