    1. Hi Guys, I just received this badge in a grouping to an Observer from Fliegerhorstkompanie Westerland, one Hauptmann Hermann Grell - a nice early 1st Pattern from Deumer! The award document is dated for June of '39. I just wanted to show it off - I love the early Deumers! ERIC [attachmentid=23795]
    2. I don't recall ever seeing ANY Luft Badges by JMME/IMME in aluminum before Steve. ERIC
    3. Hi Guys, I'd just like to take the oppertunity to show a couple of items from a recent acquisition - an Early Observer Group of Hauptmann Hermann Grell. I have his flight logs (back to '33) and a couple of photos of this man and some of his Kameraden. The cream of this grouping I will post here now. His only two Third Reich awards that I am aware of and their docs - a 1st Pattern Deumer Observer Badge and a 1st Pattern EKII Spange. Nothing fancy here, but I love the early awards, especially the Observer Badge! I hope you enjoy seeing them! ERIC [attachmentid=23786]
    4. WOW! That's a tough one indeed! The eagle is truly like that on Brians' 2nd pattern example and the one from that Italian Bomber Pilots' estate. I really don't know what to think to be quite honest. I like the overall appearance of this badge, I really do. Again, like those before me, the hinge is a bit of a head scratcher. On all the 1st pattern alu badges by other manufacturers, their alu hinges were pretty much the same style / size/ shape as their buntmetall counterparts. A comparison can't be made here because of the lack of a 1st Pattern JMME anything. I really can't poo poo personally because there is really nothing to compare it to. The quality of it really looks to be top notch. Having an open mind here, I say it could be possible that this is a 'missing link' in JMMEs badge evolution. I would love to see another like it. ERIC
    5. Nor have I ! That's one fat-necked birdy, with a clipped tail even! I have serious doubts myself on this one. ERIC
    6. Hello Mike, Thanks for the info. The tank is indeed a seperate piece - as a matter of fact on of the rivits are broken, so the tank is loose. The scalloped reverse to the swaz is there as well. Just crappy scans. The badge is actually a lot better than the scans show. I have sent you a PM regarding this badge. Thanks to everyone for their views. ERIC
    7. Hi John, Great pieces! That Pilot is definately an Assmann hybrid, no doubt. I've seen that 'alternate' rivit before as well on some 2nd pattern Assmanns'. I think that the hybrid looks better than the first or second patterns as a whole! Leave some of the good ones for me! Seriously JTW, super addition to the collection! ERIC
    8. Thanks Stogie - appreciate the reply! Hopefully Mike will lend a hand here. ERIC
    9. Thank you Don for your reply! Can anyone else offer up their opinion towards this one? I just want to be comfortable with it for I will be offering it for sale if I complete the trade. Any more help will be appreciated. Thanks! ERIC
    10. Hi Guys, Need some help here. Short and sweet - is this a real PAB 25? I'm a Luftwaffe fellow so I basically am in the dark on these. This piece is being offered to me within a trade, so I just want to be sure it is OK before I commit to the whole deal. Thanks for any help you can provide! ERIC [attachmentid=21903]
    11. Hi Jan, Yes, by all means take care of your back - that's nothing to mess with. The weight is not that important here, just for my own curiosity to see if it is in the 'normal' range for GWL Paras. Go easy until you feel better - get some rest! ERIC
    12. I would still say a Juncker Pilot Marc. The telltale indentation in the wing (arrow)and the overall leafing (shape)in the wreath has me calling this a Juncker. ERIC [attachmentid=21537]
    13. Nice early photos of Herr Follmann Marc to go along with the later documentation. Too bad you didn't have his Pilots Badge certificate so we could see just how early that 1st Pattern Flugzeugf?hrerabz is! (Looks like a Juncker!). ERIC
    14. Hi Jan, To start off with, a VERY nice Osang! Just as it should be! Now, the GWL - I think Kurt is right with this - the eagle looks to have been reattached in some way with different rivits IMO. The rest of the badge looks like a standard GWL Para to me. Do you have a weight on it Jan? ERIC
