    1. It's very very sad, as Alexei was not only a gentleman (you all said this already), but also one of the rare dealers with "modest" prices, good items, and someone you could 100% trust in!!! I feel sorry about this... If this is confirmed by him; a page has been turned... Sad, sad!!!! Ch.
    2. Thanks for your efforts, Order of Victory. But, could you try one by one, with a better definition ? Many thanks in advance. Cheers. Ch.
    3. Hi Gerd, It's sad... I thought it could have been a hackers intrusion... Ch.
    4. Again, if you can, I think a good scan of this page 23 would be of highest interest. Many thanks in advance. Cheers. Ch.
    5. Thanks Order of Victory for the pics. I knew this book, but did not recognise it... Cheers. Ch.
    6. As far as I remember, I don't think you can get Euros from ATM machines in Moscow... Ch.
    7. Bryan is right. The best is to take RR at the ATM. But, as you may need a lot of them (credit cards are not so well accepted in Moscow, where a "cash" tradition remains, and where tips are to be paid in cash) it is not a bad idea to bring with you some other currency (as Euros...). Ch.
    8. What is the metal ? Does not seem to be silver made... Ch.
    9. Ho Gordon, Maybe it's time to change your screen for a 16/9 format... Cheers. Ch.
    10. Thanks Gordon. I believe the award has been presented in this doc / box. All I have seen is on the pic. Seems to me complete : medal + bar, doc / box, Urkunde. Here is another pic. Cheers. Ch. Pic : ? Christophe ? ChR Collection
    11. Congrats Filip !! Well done for your first participation . And, again, welcome to the Quiz!!! Your turn, now to ask the next question... Cheers. Ch.
    12. In fact, only the 1st awarded (Zhukov's one) is sometimes described as having a SN, and of course SN 001. This is part of an established tradition in awarding Soviet Union awards that the SN 001 of an Order is awarded to a "celebrity", hence Zhukov. The other Orders of Victory are never described in literature as bearing a SN... except if an award card shows the contrary... If you have pics of these award cards, please post them here!!!! Cheers. Ch.
    13. Thanks Bryan, I have taken these pics in May 2006. I also recently (last week-end) visited the Stasi site in Mauerstrasse. I'll post pics of "Stasi - Die Austellung" soon. Cheers. Ch.
    14. Yes, all this reflects fun and happiness... And the display shelves are not of the period... Cheers. Ch.
    15. Here it is... Nothing has changed since 1989. The spirit is still the same as it was in the 70s... A travel back to the past... Cheers. Ch.
