      Was advised this should be posted in this forum. Received this for Christmas from my son. I'd appreciate any information, (i.e, Unit designation, meaning of red stripe, authenticity based on inside markings, etc.) It had a tag inside that said "German Army", nothing else.       Another Christmas present. Again, I'd appreciate any insight as to this pin. The back says, "Coro, Sterling, Pat Pending". I found one on e-bay in much worse condition (not that I want to sell it, just doing some research). As always, appreciate any inputs. Ed

      It is apparently an Engineer Battalion. The motto, "Nous Servons" is for the 52nd Engineer Battalion of WW I service. I am looking into getting info on this one with the "le Corps". I'll let you know. Thanks for making time to get this info to me.

      I've always wondered about the US general ranks. Why is a MAJOR general (2 stars) lower than a LIEUTENANT general (3 stars). Seems they should be reversed doesn't it? Ed

      It does Mervyn. It is from the state of Alaska. If you look closely at the seal in the middle you can read that.

      Mervyn, Regarding your post of the 36" nightstick. It is actually called a RIOT CONTROL BATON. It is designed to allow the officer to hold it with both hands. We were trained on a variety of baton strike techniques.       I just used 1 gallon ziplock bags. Works for me. The ones without bags are plastic tops.
