Hi, Robert you are right with the name.I noticed the same as Robert when I saw the membership card.Old German names originate mostly either from a profession or a place.So this looks like he took a profession close to his predecessor?s,which must have been a member of the guild for construction related professions. Darrell, there was no "whatever reason".If I had a dotted one I would have stated it the same as ...,dotted.I just differenciated between the 2 types without intending to be either way.Just like blood types A and B.Hey,it?s X-mas everybody be happy and shall there be no point making whatsoever.I hope this made my position clear,by no means did I want to start a discussion other than on the cross shown. Thanks for you comment on both of them and since you mentioned the left one,I actually prefer it for its sunburst.The one on the right shows wear,which has its own charisma IMO. Regards

Thanks David, see I didn?t get it.Yeah I also thought this might have been used by a member of a Spielmannszug.However,I thought it would have a more official character.I also made a mistake with my example,it is not Verband which might indeed have been the trade union,it is "Verein deutscher Bergleute" instead.They use the exact symbol as is sewn onto the arms.
