    Everything posted by Scott

    1. Well it finally arrived. Yes, from what I've seen posted elsewhere, it's in the original box. Unfortunately, someone has scrached out the Egana mark on the interior lid. Otherwise, I'm very pleased Scott

      wound badge

Wow - those are stunning! Scott
    3. Now THAT is a wierd one Scott
    4. I saw your comment on this badge (or one very similar to it) in an earlier post. Thanks again for the warning! Scott
    5. Oops - you're right. My apologies. Scott
    6. Jacques - another fantastic collection of documents!! Thanks for sharing them. The list of awards raises a couple of medal/badge questions for me: - Is the Cruz de Guerra the same as the "Al Merito en Campana" badge? - How many classes of the Cruz de Blanca del Merito Militar were there and how did they differ from each other? Thanks. Scott
    7. Ring...There's a maker mark too, but I can't tell what it is.
    8. Wow - must be something in the soil, 'cause they grow in Southwest Illinois too
    9. Jacques - great crosses an photos of each. Had you not said otherwise, I would have walked by that last one thinking is was a repro: poor finish, Floch-looking pin, and one eagle poorly placed. Thanks for the education! Scott
    10. Rick, thanks - that puts it in terms I can relate to. Jacques, a fantastic grouping - to include Spanish pilot wing award! Would love to see more of the whole group! Scott
    11. Thank you Jacques - very interesting. Another great photo of a SCW vet as well - very unusual to see sew-in epaulets on a flight blouse. Scott
    12. Jacques & Panzerpioner, thank you for your help confirming this badge for me. This badge should be arriving next week! Scott
    13. Here's the whole badge I might have a chance at... I just want to be certain it's a Spanish Civil War period badge. Scott
    14. Correct me please, but is this the correct crown associated with SCW-period badges? (best pic I gould get - I had to scale the picture way down to meet posting criteria). Thanks. Scott
    15. Wow - So that's where they all are! An amazing collection of crosses. Scott
    16. Ed - point well taken. I should have been more specific: I am asking this in relation to how German troops would have earned either the red or white cross during the Spanish Civil War. If I'm in the wrong place for this question, I'll take it to the international forum. Thanks. Scott
    17. A quick question: What was the award criteria difference between the Spanish Red Military Service Cross and White Military Service Cross? I've searched the forum and couldn't find a difinitive answer, although one thread mentioned the White one is more rare and was for enlisted/NCOs only. Is that true? is there more to it than that? Thanks in advance for helping to clarify this for me Scott
    18. I've seen the solid-back KM eagles with the "M"-in-a-diamond symbol attributed to KM insignia. As mentioned, unmarked hollow-backs like this one could be either KM or Heer General Officer. Scott
    19. IMO, not much to be frightend of there. Very poorly cast fakes sold as such. Scott
