      no, thanks to the both of you for your explanations and for enjoying them! i have another example in gold that i think you will like very much. i will post it soon. and i also have a commander or grand cross example without the ribbon (pre 1870, i think--can't remember exactly).

      nice! i think i have a pin-marked example as well, but if memory serves it is stamped up near the top of the pin near the hinge. i will see if i can dig it up. i think it's a cased example. p.s. what do you mean by "standing hinge"? please forgive my ignorance, btw. i am still trying to carch up on all the latest stuff. cheers!
