    1. Hey guys, Just got this one in, a mm 24 wide frame EK2. Pretty good shape, love the frame on these! Thanks! Kind Regards, Steve [attachmentid=53357]
    2. Thanks Grant, So the leaves "falling inward" are the early cores, "bulging out" are the later cores? Kind Regards, Steve
    3. Nevermind guys, seems this one is a fraud, with the L/12 on the frame ground off. Back to the search... Kind Regards, Steve
    4. Hey guys, Would like to share my first Knight's Cross, a later (1970's?) 1957 version Ritterkreuz. With case and ribbon, and appears to be stamped 800 on the frame but I think this may be a "misadvertisement." Magnetic core and 3 piece construction. Quality isn't too bad, not a wartime cross by any means but OK. Any thoughts on a maker? Thanks guys, Kind Regards, Steve [attachmentid=52772] [attachmentid=52773]
    5. Brilliant cross David! Congrats on a great score, a necessary addition to any EK collection! Kind Regards, Steve
    6. Beautiful! As always, a great set Micha! Kind Regards, Steve
    7. Thanks guys, Mr. Gordon, thats the exact kind of blackness as on my cross, thanks for sharing it and for the explanation, sure makes sense to me. It sure doesn't appear to be damaging the underlying metal, just on the surface. Thanks guys, you've put my mind at ease! Kind Regards, Steve
    8. Hi guys, A new arrival today, a cased (halbetui) mm "20" Zimmerman in pretty good shape I thought I would post. Has kind of a strange finish to the front side, with the black "highlights," has anyone else seen something like this? If additional pics are wanted please let me know! Thanks guys! Kind Regards, Steve [attachmentid=37876]
    9. Thanks Peter! This info is fantastic! Thanks for sharing it with me! Kind Regards, Steve
    10. Hi Pat, Yours looks like a good KO cross to me too. On the KO maker mark, you will see many different types of cores in these crosses, so these crosses might not match your cross' core, but they are all authentic crosses. Kind Regards, Steve
    11. Hi Peter, Great cross man, thanks for sharing! On the 8 different variations, I would love to learn more about these crosses, could you please expand on this, time permitting? Would sure appreciate it, love to learn more about these FA crosses, as there doesn't seem to be an abundance of information out there on them. Thanks, Kind Regards, Steve
    12. Hi Claudio, Thanks for the better pics and the explanation, the clasps are indeed black, just some have the paint worn off. Thanks! Kind Regards, Steve
    13. WOW! Thanks Claudio, dond, and Paul for sharing your examples, fantastic crosses! Amazing groups Claudio! A quick question, on the "Vor dem Feinde" bar there seems to be some variation, from the black version to silver. Are both types accepted as wartime, or like the 1st class is one the "war version" and the other "post war version?" Hey Jef, I'm not an expert, but on conservation personally I only go after the active, orange rust. There are a few ways to do that, and there have been some great postings on conservation, I'll try and find some for you man! Here's a post of an amazing 1813 EK II, and towards the bottom of this page rust treatment is talked about, hope this helps man, http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=3650&hl=rust Kind Regards, Steve
    14. Thanks Mike! That's an FA Cross collection! Thanks for sharing it man! That's the first Prinzen FA cross I have seen, a truly impressive collection of FA crosses! Thanks for sharing all your FA crosses guys, love seeing them, and keep them coming please! Kind Regards, Steve
    15. Thanks Rick and Tom, Top of the line examples there, thanks for sharing them! Kind Regards, Steve
    16. Thanks dond, yours is a beauty, thanks for showing it! I really like these FA crosses for some reason, something about 'em, a heavy award of iron! If anyone else has some to share, 1 or 2 class, would love to see them! Or a "Vor Dem Fiende" bar! Kind Regards, Steve
