    1. There are lots of these examples around from various regiments. Moss date around 1913. Some a little earlier. Basically the regiments had an authority to issue their own medals - these relate to the 25, 50 0r 100 year birthdays of the regiments. The 1913 period had particular significance in Prussia, because this related to the war of liberation '1813'. I do recall/ think seeing a photo (I cant find my copy!) in the introductory section of Charles WoolleyUniforms & Equipment of the Imperial German Army 1900-1918 where there is a full page shot of a retired Dragoon NCO - and there looks like a 100 yr medal & bow is pinned following the ribbon bar.
    2. Thankyou for this - I dont think I have ever seen a fitting like this befor - this must have been made for people who did not want their Iron Cross to catch, move or revolve!
    3. So there is a screw connector between the plate and the cross - or the plate was orignially covered with fabric, and whole assemble is attached to the tunic face?
    4. The mounting plate with holes - is that for attachment to a tunic?
    5. And their site has a lot of stuff that is best bought as fillers.
    6. In ww1 was there such a army group as HEERESGRUPPE FRIEDE? Area of opperations? Unit composition?
    7. Does anyone have information as to why so many M1876/1909 Bronze Ottoman Turkish Imperial Army tuinc buttons, seem to made by UK firms? And over what time frame are we commonly talking: Here is a sample of the typical firms in question: Shoulder board button - ?COMPTON+LONDON+?. 23mm - D. Curteen & Sons, Maverhill. 23mm - Limerick Clothing Factory. 23mm - ?J.COMPTON & SONS ٠ LONDON ٠?. Here is a typical example:-
