    1. Reck's RB and RS group plus the many I and others have had makes me wonder why awards come back as unresearchable or no research available. I've heard many things why these are so. The most common is KGB. But there was/is (?) access to the KGB archives still with no hits. Then I hear there are sub archives within the KGB inc. the "traitors to the Soviet Union" archives within the KGB. It is unfortunate but theft of the actual docs from the archives seems to be ongoing according to good sources. Let's face it, some docs collectors are likely paying big bucks to get the docs behind let's say, a sniper. Much like we would want the actual award. Very sad is that these docs are gone for good. : ( I'd be interested to get your opinions on unresearchables.
    2. Dan da man, I was wonderin where you were. Good to see you. Great interesting choices. Female snipers, night witches, etc.etc. are out there and likely one of us has those in our non researched yet awards.
    3. Based on previous and recent events, I'd have to say that RS research can be much better than that of RBs. Longer write ups than RBs unless you get a combat RB which can be a long write up. For your money, finding a combat write up RB is expensive and hard to find in comparison to RSs. This is but my personal opinion.
    4. Indeed, a great choice. Aside from the upper echelons in books, I've never seen an award for a lower ranking foreign soldier.
    5. Gentlemen, thank you again for all the info. I did find a marking on the scabbard. You fellas are indeed experts on these. As for me, my focus is elsewhere and there is no point in the bayonet remaining in my closet. It should be in the hands of someone who can appreciate it. If you are interested, it is on Canadian Ebay but only for Canadians. International shipping with tracking capability is ultra expensive. This isn't a sales pitch but just to let you know it is there if you are interested. Thanks again!
    6. I just can't believe that they did this. To the Faleristika gulag they should go.
    7. Tom buddy, only awards for officers have pics. And you get the pic by paying extra and getting his service record with it. I should add it is not a guarantee that you will get a pic with the service record-crap shoot.
    8. Thank you for the info Nick. Ya, I kinda thought the screw was a replacement but I appreciate you confirming this also. Sure is nice enamel on it though. N
    9. Thanks Auke, I have about a dozen or so of those night witches-good to know about this.
    10. Gentlemen, thank you very much for the info! Thanks to you, I finally know what they are.
    11. A VERY good observation lad! Even the main body is bent a bit.
    12. I doubt that the recipient is still alive and even if he/she was it still would be researchable. Even though I am fully of beans and hot air, I do know a bit about research. As such, to reiterate, I think the RB group is very rare and could likely be KGB. Classified to say the least. Hang tough Devil Dog, one day you'll get the research but it will take time. The KGB archive is still closed but that will change-chaos there at this time. Man, you can buy me a beer or 6 when it comes back as something real cool. If it is a night witch, though, methinks Auke will swim the ocean and grab it from ya.lol
    13. Included was this Czech machete from the same place. Cheers and thanks,
    14. Cheers fellas, I was given this bayonet/scabbard some time ago. The people who gave it to me were given it in the Netherlands. I'm trying to find out any further information on it. Thanks!
    15. Good point Paul. Not sure. Let's call 1-800-Help-Auke. Anyone else, feel free to contribute.
    16. I recently acquired this badge and was wondering if the badge can be researched? Has the Mongolian archives been opened? The enamel background on the badge shows up much better than in the pics. Thanks.
    17. Damaged awards can fit into this category also. The vast majority of time they are sold for much less money yet you can get some real cool write ups.
    18. Agreed, awards from those times would be cool. Methinks Paul's RB group is from those times. Patience Reck, patience. Might take time but you will be pleasantly surprised in the future.
    19. Man, you are lucky to have bought in 92. Personally, I love damaged awards. They deserve the same honor that ones that are in good condition.
    20. Worded perfectly Auke! One thing also about buying. Keep in mind that if you ever sell them in the future, there is a good possibility that you may not get your money back. I've seen quite a few in the game for a while then decide to leave it. They struggled to sell off their collections and at a big loss. : ( Paul, would love to see the write up. Have you posted it?
