    1. #2 I think it is the Pavlov's House (дом Павлова) - There is an other building on the other side of the street that was rebuild after the war, so I'm not sure which one is the Pavloc's House, but I think it is this one. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pavlov's_House
    2. I had the chance to go to Volgograd last August and I spent easily more than 5 hours at the "Stalingrad Panorama Museum". Concerning my collecting and history interests, this museum is by far the most interesting museum I have seen in my life with the Soviet Armed Forces Museum in Moscow. One thing is that the displays shown at the Stalingrad Panorama Museum were much more beautiful than the ones seen at the Soviet Armed Forces Museum IMHO. Like in every museum, I bought that extra ticket that allowed you to take photographs. I?m taking the time tonight to share some of the things I enjoyed in that museum. I hope you will like it and that some of you will have the chance to visit that city one time in your life! Bryan #1 Stalingrad Panorama Museum entrance. It is written above "Battle of Stalingrad"
    3. I think I have read that every chain represents one person killed during the war.
    4. #5 Main hall of the museum. It is very impressive to me. If I'm right they started to build the museum in 1986.
    5. #4 Close-up from the statue in front of the museum. Is it St-George? The obelisk is quite impressive. All the names of the Hero cities of the USSR are written on it.
    6. I will add some of my pictures from the Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War. I was there 1 month ago and I had a great time in Russia as usual. First of all 2 small videos from the museum. #1 Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War - Glory Room http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-1471438384795267493 #2 Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War - Berlin Panorama fresco http://video.google.ca/videoplay?docid=-3312175440891825493 #3 Museum by night
    7. Well I guess it was too easy for the guy who recommend me to go to these places. I'll maybe add few pictures I have made to your thread. You are next Mr. Haynes! P.S.: I have also noticed that there was a lot of fake medals on display in that museum, but am I roiht to say that the Soviet Armed Forces Museum has more original things displayed than the "Central Museum of the Great Patriotic War".
    8. Ok my turn. #1 What are those things in the showcase and what do they represent? #2 Were was this picture taken? #3 In which year was build that building and for which purpose?
    9. #1 USSR and Czechoslovakia : Czechoslovakia won in the first round. #2 The so called "Czechoslovak Hockey Riots", people wanted to express themselves after what happened after the occupation of the country after the Prague Spring in August 1968. #3 The events were used as a pretext to oust remaing leaders symbolizing Prague Spring from power. Among them, Alexander Dubček was forced to resign as First Secretary of the Communist Party of Czechoslovakia, to be replaced by Gust?v Hus?k who started politics of "normalisation". 10. Dolf it comes from this book : "YUGOSLAVIA INSIGNIA & DECORATIONS 1918-1990"
    11. Christian, I'm only able to answer your 4th question. I guess you are right! These 3 countries had the best enameled awards! I don't collect Mongolian awards, but I do collect Soviet and Yugoslavian.
    12. Very interesting question RedThreat! Can you please give us information under which circumstances he saved that little German girl?
