    1. This is a Rank Insignia from Azeri Uniform from that period. Due to reflection of the glass window, this is the best photo I can show, this rank insignia is the smallest in size (about 6 to 6 & half centimeter diameter for the star). But there are model in the showcase that are 20 % larger. Regards. Emmanuel
    2. There was 2 of this medal in the museum : "21 Azar" , a medal given by General Cefer Kaviana aid. I have NOT a keyboard allowing me to do turkish alphabet letter, so in Cefer, I know the 2 "e" shall have been reversed, sorry, but I do not have this letter on my keyboard. Regards. Emmanuel
    3. Hello Gentlemen, I cannot bring much to this topic, I'am NOT an uniform specialist, but you should ounce visit the Istiqlal Museum in Baku ( Museum of Independence). In this museum are some (not a lot), items from Azerbaijan Republic from 1918-20. In the museum lies this Order : Sattarxan Ordeni (It's about 5 & half to 6 centimeter high, 4 & half to 5 centimeter wide). It's the onliest of its kind. Emmanuel
    4. Currently, the Order of Ismaili Somoni is awarded like this. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    5. Hello Gentlemen, Being recently in Kazakhstan, I had the opportunity to take photo of the awards from First President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbaiev, including his Order of Ismaili Somoni. So the photo show better features of the awards than previously. It has to be noted that President Nursultan Nazarbaiev was awarded this Order in Year 2000. On that time, this Order (single class) was in the shape of a breast badge, later on a change occurred, and now, this Order is awarded with a sash badge, a sash, and a breast star. President Vladimir Putin from Russian Federation was awarded a such version of the Order. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    6. Hello Gentlemen, At least now we know that the Tamreen Medal ( Medal for Exercise ) had been issued as a medal. About 40 Millimeters in diameter. Ribbon width 36 Millimeters : Green 6 & half, White 7, Green 9, White 7, Green 6 & half Millimeters. Weight 18 Grammes. It's metal gilt (not silver). Regards to all. Emmanuel
    7. But a recent photographic evidence, the 30th Anniversary of Independence of Vanuatu on 30 July 2010 show Mr Bill Quade ( Team Leader of the AusAID-Australian Federal Police Vanuatu Police Force Capacity Building Project ), who was awarded the National Medal of Merit. The ribbon of his National Medal of Merit show 5 equal width stripes of Red/Green/Red/Green/Red. On the photo, he's next to the Governor-General of Australia Ms Quentin Bryce AC, who on that occasion was awarded the Medal of 30th Anniversary of Independence of Vanuatu. http://gg.gov.au/events/vanuatus-30th-anniversary-independence-celebrations If any ones on this forum has a photographic evidence of person being awarded the National Medal of Merit, it would be interesting to see this photo. I remember I bought this medal from a postal bid auction in Melbourne in 1997 or 1998. Internet didn't existed on that time (only minimal services, and interactivity was unknown). Regards to all. Emmanuel
    8. Concerning the National Medal of Merit of Vanuatu, on this photo, you can see Jean-Marie Léyè, the 3rd President of Vanuatu 1994-1999, obviously wearing the Badge of Honour of Vanuatu, as he was entitled as President of the country, and a ribbon red with 2 green stripes (but these green stripes seems more narrow than on the National Merit Medal that have been seen later, and on which the ribbon is 5 equal stripes of crimson red/green/crimson red/green/crimson red). This later ribbon, is quite remarkably similar to the UK India Service Medal 1895-1902, just the red used on the Vanuatu ribbon is brighter. Regards. Emmanuel
    9. Here are the medals of Vanuatu from my collection. On first row from left to right : Medal for Service, Meritorious Service Medal, Distinguished Service Medal. On second row : Independence Medal 1980 & Medal of National Merit ( I bet the ribbon might not be 100 % correct on this last medal, I'll tell why, and post evidence later one). Regards to all. Emmanuel
    10. Here is the best photo I have been able to found of the actual medal : Royal Solomon Islands Police Force International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal. Here, the medal is awarded to an Officer of the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary. The type of case of issue "might" suggest that the medal might have been manufactured in Australia. If any one on this forum has more information, he's most welcome to post new information. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    11. Despite not being a Tonga Award, I feel, that readers and members would found interesting to see here a photo of the Solomon Islands : Royal Solomon Islands Police Force International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal, that has been awarded to Tongan Police Officer ( watch post above, 9th line of the text, I will repost a screen capture); (on the photo the medal is shown on the chest of a Papua New Guinea Police Officer, but it's the onliest photographic evidence I got). If ever a member of this forum (Ilja ?), might get a photo of a Tonga Police Officer, wearing this medal from Solomon Islands, he's most welcome to post it here. Regards. Emmanuel
    12. Hello Gentlemen, At least 25 % of the mystery of the medal worn by Nauru Police Commissioner Corey Caleb is solved. At least one of his 4 medals is not from Nauru, but from Solomon Islands. The one at right hand side, with sky blue ribbon, with a yellow central stripe edged in green. This medal is Royal Solomon Islands Police Force International Law Enforcement Cooperation Medal. This Solomon Islands Medal had been awarded to Tonga Police Officers, and to Papua New Guinea Police Officers, so it make sense, that the Police Commissioner of Nauru has been awarded one also. I will post photo in a following post, within 30 minutes. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    13. Here the full details of the different awards, presented on 7 June. http://www.looptonga.com/tonga-news/tonga’s-king-tupou-vi-confers-police-service-medals-recipients-84826 It explain in what the Commissioner Merit Award consists. Emmanuel
    14. It seems that some Police Overseas Service Medals were also awarded (for service in the Solomon Islands). It is reported that some awards were posthumous, and presented to heirs. Emmanuel
    15. Tonga Commissionner of Police Stephen Caldwell did also receives a medal. It seems, his medal doesn't has the straight bar suspension of the LSGC Medal, so I assume he was awarded the Police MSM. Emmanuel
    16. The case of issue of the different medals, shortly prior to being presented. Emmanuel
    17. Here is the source concerning the Tonga Police Medal, presentation ceremony held on Friday 7 June 2019. Emmanuel
    18. Hello Gentlemen, On 15 May 2019, the Kingdom of Tonga, had instituted 3 new Medals for the Police, respectively a LSGC Medal, a MSM Meritorious Service Medal, and an Oversea's Service Medal. On a ceremony held on Friday 7 June on Police College Parade Ground, King Tupou VI had awarded 248 Medals ( 110 LSGC, 114 Oversea's Service, 10 MSM ). The source, that I will later post, states that 5 Police Officers were distinguished with a Commissioner's Gold Merit Award, recognizing their acts of Bravery (sadly no photo of this last one) + 9 Commissioner's Silver & Bronze Merit Award). The digitalized pictures of the medals show the reverse pin of ELM Singapore as manufacturer. You can click on the pdf file with the legislation concerning these 3 awards. Regards to all. 19. Vanuatu issued a Medal for its Independence on 30 July 1980 (only 300 Medals were awarded, or available to be awarded (ref from the Vanuatu Awards & Honor Act). There is some reference that a 10 Years Anniversary of Independence Medal was instituted, but I never got a photo of it. I even got an article from dailypost.vu from 9 March 2018 by Jonas Cullwick, referring to a 25 Years of Independence Medal, but this web source being from 2018, the journalist may wrongly have referred to the Vanuatu 30 Years of Independence Medal, that we know exist. We have to credit and congrats Jennifer Worthington, from Oxfam who was awarded this Medal for her work in Vanuatu after a cyclone. But watch the award document, it is signed by President Baldwin Lonsdale (who was Vanuatu President from 22 September 2014 to his death on 17 June 2017). Obviously the month is half seen on the award document with 3 letters Nov....(for November). Mrs Worthington did her Twitter post on February 2017. But as Vanuatu 30 Years of Independence was in 2010, an award in 2016 shall be regarded as an award for personal merit (and not related to any achievement related to the Independence in 1980, or celebration in 2010). The type of case, suggest that this medal was minted in Australia. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    20. Hello Gentlemen, Grabbing information left & right, I have grabbed these photo of Mgr Calvet, Bishop of Noumea ( French Caledonia ), who was awarded the Badge of Honor in October 2007, in Port Vila (capital of Vanuatu). I believe it's first time, I see a photo of an Official Award document. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    21. Cearly the ADC of President Baron Waqa is wearing the same medal here, on the day of President Tsai from Republic of China visit, than he was wearing on the 5th Anniversary of Independence Celebration. But his medals are not worn in same sequence, the one on position 3 and 4 have been inverted if you compare with the photo of 31January 2019, which was the 51st Anniversary of Independence. Any reference to these medals, would be welcome. Best regards. Emmanuel
    22. President Waqa of Nauru, was awarded the Order the Brilliant Jade on 25 March 2019, when President Tsai from the Republic of China did a State Visit to Nauru. The photo where he wear a single breast medal with bleu, white, red ribbon, predates these 2 photos. On the background of Photo 1 of this post is Nauru Polie Commissioner Corey Caleb, wearing his 4 medals. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    23. Hello Gentlemen, Thank you Ilja for these great photo. I was doing some research too from my side, but you get a bit faster to upload. I get another photo from President Baron Waqa, it's on 51st Anniversary of Independence in January 2019, he is wearing a breast medal, that due to the type of ribbon, might be a chinese medal or a medal produced in the Republic of China. The woman he is with on the photois not getting an award, she is actually Muriel Cecil, the oldest living nauruan, and President is presenting her a presentation board with First Day Cover stamps honouring the 5 generation of her family that are living in Nauru. Regards. Emmanuel
    24. This is such another connected photo. Here is the link : https://teara.govt.nz/en/photograph/36864/displaying-the-nauru-flag-1968 1968, Representatives of Nauru's three trustee nations, from left, D.J. Carter (New Zealand), Charles Barnes ( Australian Minister for Territories), Charles Johnson (United Kingdom), with on far right holding the flag Hammer DeRoburt First President of Nauru ( 1968-1976, then 1978-1986 (17 September 1986), then 1st October to 12 December 1986, then 22 December 1986 to 17 August 1989 ). Hammer deRoburt was made a K.B.E. by HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1982. Some sources refer he was also G.C.M.G. Regards.
