      BURKINA FASO

To reply to a post I did on 8 November 2014, about the Medal of Merit of Public Health and of Social Action, I can now state that this medal is actually and Order Order of Merit of Health and Social Action (here with clasp Action Sociale). I enclose here the photo from the post I did on 8 November 2014. In a french auction I was able to buy one 2 years ago, without ribbon, without clasp. Best regards to all. Emmanuel
    2. Hello Gentlemen, I had recently the opportunity to acquire 3 Medals from Panama, from the SPI ( Servicio de Proteccion Institucional in spanish ) . In Panama many services were reorganized after the fall of General Noriega. The SPI, Servicio de Proteccion Institutional was created 17 February 1990, as a part of 4 component of the Public Forces ( Fuerza Publica ), the 3 others are the Policia Nacional ( National Police ), the Servicio Nacional Aeronaval ( SENAN ), and the Servicio Nacional de Fronteras ( SENAFRONT ). These 4 groups are of a size of 30.000 Servicemen, of which 2000 are from the SPI. The mission of the SPI is to assume the protection of the President of the Republic of Panama, the Vice President, the Minister of the Government of Panama, their close families, and also the protection of former President of the Republic. The SPI is also responsible for the security of the Presidential Palace, and some of the installation of the Canal of Panama. Here you can see the seal of this Service and also an unit badge. In further post I will present the medal I have acquired. Most collector got to know the usual Orders from Panama, Order of Balboa, Order of Amador Guerrero, and Order of Belisario Porras ( all 3 instituted before Noriega ). During the Noriega era some others awards were instituted, like the Order of Omar Torrijos, which was then a single class Order, but the name was retain as higher Order of Panama, later (but insignia are completely different). Later on the Order of Arnulfo Arias Madrid was instituted in 2003 (these last 2 awards exist only in 3 ranks : Collar with Badge, Grand Cross with gilded breast star, and Grand Cross with silvered breast star). But besides of these, 5, exist several military decoration that existed only during the Noriega era. Also exist red crosses awards specific to Panama, and a large quantity of Firefighter Awards, for each of the municipality. I have visited ounce a local collector in Panama City, and he had a fantastic frame with almost all of them. Regards to all. Emmanuel

      BURKINA FASO

We can assume that the Order of Merit of Youth & Sport from Burkina Faso got its 3 ranks as Officer ( gold medal ), Chevalier ( silver medal ), but since a bronze medal has been observed (see 3rd photo), I do not know what to believe. It could be the gold medal being "commander", the silver one "officer" and the "bronzed" "chevalier". I collect Orders & Medals for 30 years, I have never seen a Burkina Faso Order from a specific merit Order (ie NOT the National Order or the Order of Merit), hung as a neck badge. And anyways the Specific Order of Merit of Burkina Faso are scarce on market. So these photo, are what they are. The first 2 photo (gold medal) are awarded to Sylvai Zingué, the bonze medal (last photo) is awarded to Antoine Battiono. Both were presented this award with the clasp " DIRIGEANT " Again Karhu has to be credited for these amazing photos. If any one got one for sale (whatever if manufactured by Arthus Bertrand, or ELM), I'am keen to purchase. Regards to all. Emmanuel

Hello Gentlemen, here are some good photo of Order of Merit of Youth & Sport Officer. Likely it's an Officer, on a case of a Knight ( Chevalier ). As ounce can see, it seems now it's ELM from Singapore who manufacture them. Also the white carton box to protect the case is typical of ELM. Initially Arthus Bertrand and Marck from Paris were manufactured the Orders & Medals for Burkina Faso, but it seems time are changing. We have to credit Karhu who provided me, with these photo. Regards to all. Emmanuel

    13. This is the photo of the awards to the 2 Cook Islands Police Officers, just in case the link could one day be broken), Retired Senior Sergeant Ratai Kaivananga & Former Sergeant Ngaeikura There. Interesting to note, that on right side of his Solomon Island Medal, he wear the Cook Islands Police LSGC Medal. This specific medal which was instituted , exist in 2 types ( Type 1 from 1964 to 1979 & Type 2 since 1980 ). The type 1 was clearly inspired from the New Zealand Police LSGC Medal, but the Type 2 differs. Regards. Emmanuel
    14. Hello Gentlemen, In 2017, the Solomon Islands instituted a commemorative medal, to be issued to foreign police officers, in recognition of 180 days continuous, or accumulated service as member of the RAMSI Participating Police Force ( PPF ), for service in Solomon Islands as part of RAMSI between 24 July 2003 & 30 July 2017; and have displayed diligent services. Polices Forces from Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Fiji, Tonga, Nauru, Federated States of Micronesia, Vanuatu, Palau Republic, Marshall Isl, Kiribati, Samoa, Tuvalu, Cook Islands & Niue were part of RAMSI. About 632 New Zealand Police officer (or retired Police Officer), could get this medal. But they will not be able to wear the medal in uniform. Here is the story on the link below. https://www.policeassn.org.nz/news/police-quest-to-find-former-ramsi-staff From Papua New Guinea Police Force, 32 Officers were awarded the medal. And Papua Police Officers are allowed to wear the medal while in uniform. https://emtv.com.pg/rpngc-awards-officers-for-services-in-ramsi-exercise/ 29 Police Officers from NPF ( Nauru Police Forces participated to RAMSI from 2003 to 2017), but apparently only 16 got awarded this medal. For the Cook islands Police Force, 2 retired Police Officers were presented their medal in early 2020. http://cookislandsnews.com/national/local/item/74719-two-former-cook-islands-police-officers-honoured/74719-two-former-cook-islands-police-officers-honoured The medal is 36 millimeters in diameters. BURKINA FASO

Hello Gentlemen, After years and years of infructueuse research on the net, at last, I now I have found good photo from the Burkina Faso Medal of Honor of the Police. There was a award ceremony to 126 Officers of the Police on 27 December 2019. At least we now know what this medal looks like. https://burkina24.com/2019/12/27/burkina-le-merite-de-126-agents-de-police-reconnu/ If anyone might have this medal, and wish to barter or sell, it, I'am always open. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    18. Here is the one from my collection. I know what member will say, the breast star on my fellow's collection is silvered (but it's patina, it was gilded). Order of Merit of Togo is not very often seen in its highest grade. Best regards. Emmanuel
    19. Hello Karhu,

    22. Hello Gentlemen, I'am wondering if this medal was known from phalerist before. It is what it is. Nauru Medal for 25th Anniversary of Independence 31 January 1993. The medal is in silver, or good quality cooper-nickel, but I bet it's silver (no hallmarks). I got it with its red velvet case of issue (the case is anonymous). But now, I'am also wondering if there might exist a Nauru 50th Anniversary of Independence 1968-2018..... If any one here, has information.... Regards to all. Emmanuel
    23. Hello Gentlemen, Very sad to announce that David Tasic, passed away in late October 2019. I only knew him through phone contact & email, a good person, knowledgeable & reliable, he will be missed. Regards to all. Emmanuel
    24. Hello Gentlemen, A high italian award (ie Order of the Crown Grand Cross), on a Monténégro General make sense, one of the daughter of King Nicolas 1st of Monténégro ( Helena ), was the wife of King Vittorio Emanuele III from Italy. For the St Stanislas, on the last photo, it's clear, it was the Military Division of the Order of St Stanislas (with Swords). Regards. Emmanuel
    25. And side by side, to compare size. The WWI version at left , due to its workmanship, likely french made. We know Godet in Berlin did manufactured the Cross of Valor smaller ranks (for WWII), but as I do not have the cases for these 2 Awards, I cannot state anything. Regards. Emmanuel
