    1. Great thread! I too enjoy KVK's and especially loved seing the RK versions. Marcus WOW!!!!!!! Here are my humble contributions to this thread. L/15 without swords
    2. Well, as to maker my best guess would be R.S. but a guess only. The design is certainly "Vienna" so could be RS, WH, FO who knows for sure.
    3. Well Marcus it seems you have been busy buying up all the good buntmetal badges
    4. True, maybe not common in upstate NY . I tried to remove the goat for a seperate scan but the catch is bent down trapping the needle. The attachment mechanism looks similiar to that of the Indonesian medal I posted in the other thread...........not sure if that is a clue or not.
    5. Well, thank you much guys! That was quick and very very informative.....she will be added to my WWII section.
    6. Here is one for everyone, I am hoping Ed or one of our other exotic buffs will have a clue. I figure it has to be from the middle east or gulf region but I really don't know. Looks like some kind of training medal for navy pilots maybe?
    7. Thanks Ed, so I guess the goat will remain a mystery.........certainly is a beautiful medal though.
    8. Here is the reverse. I read some info Ed put out concerning Nepal and how their awards were issued and reissued. The quality on this one is very good, not lead at all. Almost seems like silver given the weight and tarnish.
    9. Hi all found this interesting medal from Nepal in an antique shop in upstate NY. All I could find on it is that it is the Coronation Medal of King Mahendra issued in 1956. I have no idea what the attached Goats head device is for, any ideas?
    10. Very nice IAB indeed, I have only seen a handful of these and it is the only variant I am still missing........that is unless a hollow buntmetal variant shows up which I suspect will one day.......but I am rambling. Very very nice find!
    11. No problems with that IAB as far as I am concerned. I rare variant.....very common to see these with the broken catch.......
    12. Well Dan, not sure what they would be worth as a set. They are definitely two different makers and the doc doesn't specify which grade is awarded. I am an IAB collecter almost exclusively so my answer would tend to ramble on and on as alot of fellow members know........ Anyway the SHuCo is a common maker in general but there are variants that are more rare or desirable.....steel examples, semihollow zincers, hollow marked and unmarked zincers.....so one of those would command more. The bronze JFS is also common but they usually keep their finish very nicely making them desirable. Then there is the question of the history behind this framed group????? So it really is hard to say.....as a collection of its parts then anywhere from 120-200 for the JFS and 90-150 for the SHuCo and the doc I'm kind of ignorant on but I havenever paid more then 30 for a doc. These are just ranges I have seen or paid myself.
    13. Hi Dan, it is safe to say that the most likely maker of the bronze IAB is JFS, if not RSS but certainly one of the two. The silver is tougher to make out........if I had to guess I would say maybe SHuCo but definitely need a sharper pic to be certainon the silver. Bronze 99% sure its JFS.
    14. Hi Jan, yes I believe that you can find AS IAB's that have a buntmetal undercoat........not sure about solid or hollow buntmetal, but I know I have held one example with the same undercoat as on the unmarked L/51 I posted. Do you have one.........don't tease me now
    15. Well, the IAB's are all good. Don't wory too much about the broken catch on the JFS.......that is very common with the semihollows. The unmarked is an L/56 in case you were wondering. And the MK6 is no easy one to find. So in terms of IAB's you did really well for yourself.
    16. Both appear to be cast copies......pretty good from the reverse view I would say. These are cast more then likely from a good "BSW" IAB. Sorry.........
    17. And a really pretty unmarked L51 in zinc with buntmetal coating. You can just barely see the yellow metal poking through on the lower left of the wreath.
