Sam, Here's what I have been told about the D.V.G. Deutsche Volksgemeinschaft (German Community) badge or what you call the Westmark badge. It was worn by those Germans living in the Saar region that was given to the French after the first world war that supported the reunification of the Saar and Germany in 1935. Here is another supporters badge from Hungary. These badges were primarily produced for German's living and working in Hungary. Reverse has a rare Hungarian makers mark (A.HYNGAR.BUDAPEST)

Thanks Don for posting Detlev's badge with a much clearer look at that maker mark I thought that was a K above the AV on mine but wasn't positive. Also thank you Rosenberg for showing us your pristine enamel DRK badge I have one of those as well one question how did you determine this was a Deschler made badge.
