    1. No lions, no gold, no silver. Nothing special, just a Croix de Guerre (Oorlogskruis) w/ Bronze Palm for Army-level mentioned in dispatches
    2. Good opportunity to revive this thread with my piece...
    3. My second piece... One silver Front bar (top) and one gilt Front bar (bottom)
    4. Here is my first piece... Médaille Commémorative de la Guerre 1914–1918 / Oorlogsherinnerinsmedaille 1914–1918 Volunteer Crown, 1 black POW bar (top) 1 silver Front bar (bottom) I also have this little metal "wire" in the colors of the medal's ribbon; it's about 18mm long and 2mm wide. It came with a similar "wire" in the Victory Medal colors, along with a Belgian Victory Medal (posted in the Victory Medal forum).
    5. My medal above came with a mini...about 12mm diameter; ribbon is 35mm long (doubled). And this little "wire" loop in the ribbon colors; it is about 18mm long and 2-3mm wide. Also have a similar "wire" loop in the colors of the Commemorative Medal of the War 1914-1918.
    6. My Belgium Médaille Inter-Alliée de la Victoire / Intergeallieerde Overwinningsmedaille Official Type 1, Dubois; original ribbon; 36mm x 3mm
    7. Well, enjoy that vacation and put down the computer!
    8. Medaglia Della Vittoria Interalleata; Type 3 - F.M. Lorioli & Castelli - Milano ("large" signature); 36mm x 2mm Replacement ribbon (Czech colors?)
    9. Claudio, did you read my comments in Post #9? Hendrik's site states the the version without dates was for support to the Italian National Government after 1943. Another site stated it's a "modern restrike." You are saying it's a "1st type" for volunteers in the Spanish Civil War... Are there any references regarding this type without dates?
    10. Very nice, claudio; thanks for posting!
    11. An image of the medal with its ribbon (not in my collection)
    12. A medal in my collection that commemorates Italy's WW2 2nd Army, which took part in the invasion of Yugoslavia and then formed the basis of the Italian occupation of Yugoslavia.
    13. According to Hendrik's (reliable) website, this version without any dates on the reverse was created in January 1944, for those that crossed over to Allied liberated territory in Italy before September 1943 and supported the Italian National Government. I've read on other sites that the version without dates is a "modern restrike." This version also has no "maker's mark." Thoughts from GMIC experts? There was also an official version with 1940-1945 (in Roman numerals) for WW2.
    14. Created in 1968 to honor the remaining living veterans of WWI; only one class "Knight". To be eligible, a veteran have had to serve in combat for at least 6 months, have been awarded the War Merit Cross (or have been eligible for the award). The last "cavaliere" died in 2008 and the order abolished in 2010. Ordine di Vittorio Veneto, cavaliere
    15. Europe forums rocking along... Join the fun and post your gems

    16. Nice. Thanks for the info.
    17. Grazi, claudio! Touring club huh? Guess you wouldn't trade for the 1st Army Cross?
    18. This is a very nice cross with the ibex...(alpine mountain goat)
    19. Nice diplomas! Thanks for sharing. And now I'll have to measure my medal's thickness... Edited to add: Just under 3mm ... So, a Germany 2.8mm version.
    20. This image shows both of my crosses side by side for size comparison. The one on the left (with the ribbon) is clearly just a bit smaller...
    21. Second I own... Also, no "mint" mark. This one is also slightly smaller than the first cross. Original ribbon.
    22. One of two I own... This one has no "mint" mark near the sword handle; I presume a private made "unofficial" piece... The deep chocolate brown is an accurate color too... almost black instead of "bronze". And no ribbon.
