    3. Looks like Imperial Edict No. 726 was in use Now it will be really nice to find cavalier with two kites of the same class on his chest “Those who have received the Order of the Golden Kite, and again received the same grade, shall wear both” Imperial Edict No. 657 of September 26, 1942
    4. Interesting photo of major general (please note the strange position of the star on his collar badge ) with 4th class clouds, “foundation” and “shrine” http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58922-may-wear-both-two-kites-on-one-man-chest/
    5. "Those who have received the Order of the Golden Kite, and again received a higher grade, may wear both" Imperial Edict No. 726 of June 28, 1941 “May”?! So to wear or not to wear two (or more) different classes of Golden Kite order simultaneously was a question of personal choice of cavalier. At least Peterson translation of Imperial Edict No. 726 allows this interpretation. Anyway, check out this excellent photo. 4th class + 3rd class together!
    6. And this is how later box (most likely from the period of time between late 30s - late 50s) for the red ribbon looks like
    7. According to the seller (DNW) Captain A. J. Campbell of the steamer Dunbar, belonging to Messrs. Henderson & McIntosh, was awarded the Japanese Red Ribbon Merit Medal in recognition of his humane actions in rescuing and giving assistance to Japanese refugees from the transport Sado Maru which was attacked and sunk by a Russian warship in the Genkai Sea on 16 June 1904. The medal is lying on the letter of thanks from one of the Japanese citizens rescued by Campbell.
    8. Check this out guys Very interesting red ribbon for another Scottish (?) captain A. J. Campbell. Unfortunately I have only this photo
    9. In elaboration of these threads http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58628-orders-of-the-precious-crown-from-the-collection-of-metropolitan-museum/ http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58593-these-super-rarities-in-gold/ Very interesting three medals they have in MM Looks like these were never issued... I wonder if Jacob Schiff got this (a special present to sponsor? ) straight from Mint ... Red ribbon looks a little bit strange ... Red Ribbon
