    1. All 90 miniatures were ready on April 18, 1964. Next stage of "soviet miniature making" began in 1970. It is known that in 1970 mint made 105 pieces (21 variant) of different orders amnd medals miniatures and another 75 (15 variants of 1st and 2nd class Kutuzov miniatures) in 1971.
    2. Back to the soviet miniatures. Yes, 90 trial pieces were made by Leningrad Mint in 1964 We are talking about orders of Lenin, RB, LRB and 1st, 2nd and 3rd classes of Kutuzov Here we have official model of Lenin miniature with description
    3. Naaa Not recent pick up ... More like "old trinket from a closet"
    4. Another example of "mix and match" practise. 5th class kite from 1938-1945 time period with document for 5th class kite from 1904 Check this out Exellent illustrative example of how silver kanji on the box lid looks after wearing off
    5. Today there will be a special Christmas posting for all our dear colleagues and friends - frequenters of Japan section of the forum. So stay tuned dear Brian!
    6. Yea, cool stuff!!!! But wait, here comes something special again
    7. Interestingly there is 4th class kite "in full assemblage" from Showa apoch (1936 + period of time) at the same trading place ...
    8. 4th class kite from Meiji in case for 5th class kite from Showa + rosette from red cross medal. That`s what I call "mix-amd-match"
    9. Now let`s turn our attention to 4th class kites that are currently on sale. Check this out! Looks like seller doesn`t realize that this is actually 4th class kite ... Guess that`s why he decided to put it in case for 5th class kite from Showa epoch
    10. Practically mint condition (only ray at 12 o`clock has typical dimness from inside crack)
    11. And another 3st class Kite is currently at YJ. This one came from Showa epoch (I`d say late 30s) It has original ribbon and box.
    12. Sure Rich, I didn't even notice this nuance and thought "1944" :)
    13. Neck badge + breast star Please see posts # 547-561 (pages 28-29 of this thread) Best, Nick
    14. Yea, could be. Königsberg came from 1946-1948 time period and same goes for "For the victory" (this type "grind off ear" was also issued in 1946, 1947 and 1948).
    15. So-called "shovel" (by form of the medal ear ) variation. After war vintage - was issued in late 1946, 1947 and 1948.
