Hi, Although this has been covered somehwhat before I thougt I would post my collection of tabs for additional references to the collar tab collectors out there. I had thought about posting by waffenfarbe but I might miss a tab or two, so I decided on alphabetical by rank....plus it changes it up a bit. Hope you enjoy them. First up...Generalleutnant, still on their card. Gary B

Hi, I am trying to find out some information on a named waffenrock I recently obtained. The officers name is Hauptmann Walther 1937. He later became a Oberst in one of the Infantry schools. The uniform has loops on the right breast for either a German Cross or Spanish Cross. Any help appreciated. Thanks. Gary B

Luftwaffe 2 New Tabs
Gary B replied to Gary B's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Hi Paul, Finally uploaded the correct black rvs tabs. As for the Signal, they will serve as filler until I can get a set I am more comfortable with! Gary B -
Luftwaffe 2 New Tabs

Paul, As for the RLM Admin tabs I have no doubt as to the originality of these. I, too, do not recall reading about them in Angolia's series, but when I saw these I knew they were good. You should have some pictures from another person's collection (who we bought the Judicial tabs from). I believe she has what looks like 3 Black RLM Admin tabs. She also appears to have admin tabs on a blue waffenfarbe. Attached are some black reverse. I managed to get all of my tabs scanned and will post the entire lot soon. Wishing you and your family a Merry Christmas & a very prosperous and Happy New Year! Gary B -
Luftwaffe 2 New Tabs
Gary B replied to Gary B's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Hi Paul, The signal tab gulls and the reverse weave of the buckram had me doubting these tabs. I recall seeing this pattern of gulls before but I can not recall if they were on a real set or a fake set. The weave is a little wide for my liking but the wear and nips to the tabs pushed me over the 50% mark on these. I am still open to discussion on these. Pix attached. Gary B -

Don, Thanks for the info. I have Hamelman's book, but it has been a whil since I read it. What are the badges going for? I bought mine decades ago and it conforms to known pieces. Gary -

Hi Don, The so called Chaplian's wound badge used to appear somewhat irregulalry at shows and in auctions. Now a days I have yet to see one. As you mentioned they were prodced after the war by monks and, if I recall correctly, were gifts given to individuals who donated money to repair the ???? monastary that was damaged in the war (I can not recall which specific monastary it was). The one you picture is nice with the silver cross. Mine has a black cross but unfortunately the pin is missing. Gary B -
Hi Everyone, I recently purchased a glider B proficiency stickpin with the letter "N" enamelled over the 2 gulls (many thanks to Stijn for identifiying it for me...and yes I do know that I was supposed to post a pic of this piece...I promise I'll get to it!) I have also seen these pins with another letter (not N but I can not recall which letter). Anyway while trying to find out what this piece was I looked in Detlevs reference and, if I read it correctly, Detlev states that there was a rare version with diamonds and also one with a gold wreath? I might have misread it but I thought I would throw that out here for discussion. Gary B BTW, lovely pieces John and Stijn! Are these still being awarded? And if so how does one tell the difference between a WWII piece and a post war piece?

Luftwaffe Newest tab!
Gary B replied to Paul R's topic in Germany: Third Reich: Uniforms, Headwear, Insignia & Equipment
Paul, I agree that the balck tabs seem to always hae that lower quality workmanship, or are "wrinkled". I am wondering if these wrinkled ones are the early RLM tabs that have just aged (hence wrinkled) as opposed to the newer/cleaner, later war Eng Const? There has to be an explanation as to why most of the black tabs I have seen are really poor. Gary B -
