Thank you Daniel for explaining the bow. Paul unfortunately these are the only photos, taken from eBay. Gentlemen, what is doubtful about the ribbon bar? Is it the combination (there does seem to be a lot of blue ribbons)? The lack of devices perhaps? As I stated before I had a bid on this bar....maybe it is a good thing I lost this auction chaps? Best wishes Matt

Hello Detlef, The second medal is the Prussian War Aid Cross and I think that is why you ask if this very nice medal bar belonged to a non-combatant? I do not believe that this medal was just restricted to non-combatants though a number did receive them. Combatants could have been awarded this medal I am sure. Fieldmarshall von Hindenburg himself got one. I would think that with a bravery medal from Finland that this chap was a fighter. Best wishes Matt

Austria-Hungary Austrian Honor Cross
M Hunter replied to Obergefreiter's topic in Austro-Hungarian Empire
Yes there were commemorative medals for both countries. They are represented on this medal bar photo I found on the internet. The order is as follows: -Iron Cross 2nd Class -German Honour Cross 1914-1918 -Austrian Commemorative Medal 1914-1918 -Hungarian Commemorative Medal 1914-1918 I hope that answers your question. Best wishes Matt -
Hello Saschaw, Thank you for your interpretation. That is a good point about the long service award for officers only after 25 years. This could be an Officer's group. Very nice ribbon bar. Interesting that there is a wreath on the Saxon War Merit ribbon. Thank you for your good wishes Irish Gunnar. Best wishes Matt

Gentlemen, This little ribbon bar has been split up from the medal bar and miniature chain (eBay photos below). I would love to reunite them in my collection. But for now they are united here on GMIC. I find this an interesting grouping. It is possible that this is not an Officer's ribbon bar as all of these awards could have been awarded to the lower ranks. Am I correct in saying that? What sort of person/rank could have worn this ribbon bar? Thank you Matt

Daniel could be right. Perhaps the Hohenzollern House Order (HOH3X) was in position two as it is on the ribbon bar? I think this may have already been hinted by others already. Mike, that was a very nice gift to get. Both the ribbon and medal bar are fantasitic. I particularly like the Princely Hohenzollern Order ribbon device. Best wishes Matt

Thank you Uwe...my curiosity has been satisfied! I assume this chap wore these foreign medals in the order they were awarded to him as there is a Bulgarian Order in the middle of all the Romanian awards! It is a shame this bar has already been sold...i would really have liked it in the collection! Best wishes Matt

Gentlemen, I came across this picture on the internet of a Luftwaffe ribbon bar. I can identify the last three ribbons but I just wondered what the third ribbon is? Thank you Matt

Douglas, I would agree with you, a late war zinc type. Best wishes Matt

Cased Sudeten Medal with Prague Bar
M Hunter replied to Douglas Jr.'s topic in State, Civil Awards & Decorations
Hello Douglas, From the photos the medal and Prague Bar look good to me. I am no authority on the case though. I would like to see a close-up of the ribbon bar if possible. If you can get close-ups of the entire group that would be very beneficial. Best wishes Matt -
Hello, Yes this is a very nice original KVK2 and an early bronze one too! If you need a ribbon for it le tme know. Best wishes Matt
