    1. Order was instituted in 1945 as Order of Labor 3rd class (Орден рада 3. реда). Name was changed in 1961 when it became Order of Labor with Silver Wreath (Орден рада са сребрним венцем). According to Stojan Rudež it was awarded 182.910 times until the end of 1985 making it second most awarded Yugoslav order. First orders were made in ZIN (Zavod za izradu novčanica) Belgrade or to be more precise ZNB (Zavod narodne banke) what was the mint's name at the time. Apart from that they were made in IKOM Zagreb. Order of Labor 2nd and 3rd class and Order of Bravery are the only orders that were made out of cheaper material (Tombac) since their institution.
    2. I found more information regarding these two decorations in publication "Decorations from the Collection of the National Museum in Užice" (original title "Одликовања из збирке Народног музеја, Ужице"). Medal was awarded to Vladislav J. Jagodić (Владислав Ј. Јагодић) who participated in Balkan Wars and WW1 Gift Silver Medal for Zealous Service for Woman 1876-1878 awarded to Stana A. Đ. Popović (Стана А. Ђ. Поповић) on February 11. 1879 Gift Document that came with the medal above
    3. You are away for couple of days and then you read St. Lazar survived all these years and is kept by some German Princely Family. Paul, thank you very much for revealing these information! I suppose most of us knew that that is a possibility but this is the first time someone actually confirmed it. One can only hope the order will see the light of day again, perhaps Karađorđević family will manage to return it to the rightful owner and fatherland now after some light has been shed on the subject.
    4. Those medals/miniatures are far from common! Exact date of the institution is not know, at least I wasn't able to determine it, probably after 1876-78 Wars for Liberation and Independence. Serbia once again became kingdom in 1882 and after that the name and the appearance of the medal were changed. To conclude it was awarded during a short period, 4 years at best, in an impoverished country which just came out of 2 hard wars, so the total number of the awarded medals can't be that big. Unfortunately numbers are not available for the most of the Serbian decorations so I can't help you there. I've seen only 2-3 medals so far in the literature and that's it. As for the miniatures before that one appeared on ebay I knew of only one example which is kept in the Military Museum in Belgrade. It's amazing that you have 2 miniatures in your collection, thank you very much for being so kind to share photos of them with us!
    5. I was just going through the finished ebay auctions when I stumbled upon miniature of one of the rarest if not the rarest Serbian medal! SERBIA MEDAL SERVICE PRINCELY HOUSEHOLD 1878-1882 MINIATURE Winning bid: US $735.00 Medal in silver-gilt or bronze gilt (no hallmark). Diameter : 15,5 millimeters Incorrect ribbon.
    6. Don't mention it, Paul. Among other things Valtrović is the person who designed Order of St. Prince Lazar. He was also the head of the committee which chose the Karađorđević Royal Regalia.
    7. Order of the Republic of Serbia 2nd Class
    8. Paul, since you like it that much here's one more photo I just found here.
    9. Silver Medal for Zealous Service for Woman 1876-1878 in original box, National Museum Užice, exhibited during this year's Night of the Museums. Golden Medal for Bravery 1912 Photos found here: Užiče u Noći muzeja ĆUP IZ NEOLITA I KUBURE KARAĐORĐEVIH USTANIKA
    10. Montenegro and Japan were at war over hundred years, to be more precise from 1904 until 2006. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japan–Montenegro_relations
    11. You are welcome! I wasn't aware of the exhibition otherwise I would have went to Novi Sad to see it in person and then we would have better images. Unfortunately the photos from the article are too small and so far I wasn't able to find better ones.
    12. Order of Merits for the People, National Hero and Order of Kutuzov 2nd class! Photos found here: http://www.blic.rs/vesti/vojvodina/prvi-put-u-javnosti-nacisticka-zastava-zarobljena-na-sremskom-frontu-i-sablja/jdknt62
    13. Third Reich and Independent State of Croatia On the last photo interesting poster with inscription: "Croats! Enlist in the Volunteer SS Units a) Croatian Volunteer Mountain SS Division b) German Police in Croatia"
    14. Banners, uniform and interesting belt buckle with inscription "Workers of the world, unite 1944".
    15. City Museum of Novi Sad and Military Museum's exhibition "Syrmian Front and Victory Over Fascism" was held about a year ago. Third Reich's War Flag captured on the Syrmian Front, Alexander Löhr's saber and some decorations including Order of the German Eagle.
    16. Just one more photo, collar and star inside the box.
    17. President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping was awarded with the Grand Collar of the Order of the Republic of Serbia last week during official three-day visit.
    18. I stumbled upon this going through the ads. This tube seems to made out out of same kind of material as the box for the medal I posted earlier.
    19. Amazing, thanks for photos! It's been over 10 years since my last visit to Thessaloniki, next time I go there I'll definitely visit the War Museum. The only thing I dislike are the pins put through the ribbons, there are better ways of displaying decorations. Do they have some foreign decorations on display as well?
    20. I wouldn't say no to that! Dear seller, feel free to contact me for further information regarding the payment.
    21. Paul, thanks once again, very interesting topic! Unfortunately my knowledge is almost entirely limited to Serbian/Yugoslav militaria. By the way medal bar with knight size White Eagle was posted by Nick here: Absolutely amazing medal bar with connection to Serbia and Montenegro as well.
    22. Gone within 24 hours after being posted here, coincidence? I don't believe in coincidences!
    23. Not bad, 50% profit. By the way when was the last time anyone saw Miloš made by Jacob Leser? Leser examples seem to be extremely rare. This was the last one I noticed: https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/11040910_order-of-milosh-the-great Even in Car/Muhić book you can see just 2 examples, 3rd and 4th class. Has anyone ever seen Leser made breast star, if that producer even made them. When you take a look at that "Grand Cross Sash Badge" from above and it's "sash with Russian type gold ring" I wouldn't be surprised if someone took 3rd class and put it on some sash.
    24. Thank you for your reply, Paul. Let me take Austria-Hungary for example. If I understood well "Kleine Dekoration zum Großkreuz" is knight's cross worn with reduced grand cross on triangular ribbon. Such practice didn't exist in Serbia/Yugoslavia and I don't remember seeing example like that. Unfortunately they don't mention size of the order, but being described as "ritterdekoration" I presume it must be the same size as 5th (and 4th) class.
