Serbia Decorations from the collections of the Serbian museums
paja replied to paja's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
According to "Decorations of the people of Yugoslavia" by Mila Piletić that is the only known golden medal. Silver medals were to be awarded to families of participants of the Second Serbian Uprising who passed away while medals made out of copper and zinc were given to those present at the celebration. They were made by W. Pittner and marked W. P. Participants of the Second Serbian Uprising who were still alive received the cross. -

Don't mention it, here's one more example from National Museum's website. This one is made out of gold. Apart from gold and silver I've also seen these medals made out of some other metal. -

The memorial fountain “Crkvenac” in Mladenovac (Спомен-чесма Црквенац у Младеновцу) was erected in WWI in honor of the women from Scotland who took care of the wounded Serbian soldiers. The memorial fountain, 3.35 x 3.00 x 0.60 meters, has the shape of an arch supported in the front with two columns and a white marble vaulted plaque placed in the centre. The marble plaque is 1.10 x 1.00 meters and contains an inscription both in English and Serbian: “1915 – to the memory of the sanitary mission of Scottish women to Serbia and its founder Dr. Elsie Inglis – erected by the hospital from Mladenovac. Built by the soldiers of the Moravska division under the supervision of the reserve I cl. captain. Bor.” The memorial fountain is made from concrete, bricks and marble. Dedication of the memorial fountain “Crkvenac”, October 1915. Brochure in both Serbian and English: crkvenac.pdf

Serbian Army captain Flora Sandes was decorated with the Order of Karađorđe's Star with swords! She's was also awarded with the Order of St. Sava and Serbian Red Cross Order. In 1997 a movie about Flora Sandes was made in Serbia named "Our Englishwoman". http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0192353/ PS I posted a list of British recipients of the Karađorđe's Star with Swords here: http://gmic.co.uk/topic/64985-order-of-the-star-of-kara%C3%A4%E2%80%98or%C3%A4%E2%80%98e-with-swords-british-recipients/?page=1

Serbia Order of Takovo Grand Cross- Research Journey
paja replied to Rogi's topic in Southern European & Balkan States
I'm still amazed with amount of information you were able to dig up based on handwriting! I think there's a strong possibility that the order on the right just bellow the sash is the Order of the Cross of Takovo! Getting larger image would be great! -
Not really my field so thank you all for comments!

Many thanks to both of you!

I apologize for going off-topic, here are some other recipients of Ottoman decorations from that era. Luka Lazarević (Лука Лазаревић), looks like Nişan-ı İftihar, please correct me if I'm wrong. Apart from that we can see he's also awarded with Russian Golden Medal for Bravery and Zeal (Медаль "За храбрость и усердие") from 1804 on St. George ribbon!

I apologize for asking again but the auction is nearly over so I would be very grateful if someone could help me determine if it's original or not.
