    1. Here's that crown: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58460-serbia-order-of-st-sava-commander-1st-type-m/?p=544793 Actually I compared it with the Greek Order of the Redeemer. One more similar one can be found in this topic: http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/58993-serbia-order-of-st-sava-v-class-1883-huguenin-freres/?hl=sava I apologize for going a little bit off topic and hope you don't mind, but these crowns are very interesting to me.
    2. Don't mention it Markus. Absolutely beautiful piece! My congrats By the way, is it just me or is that crown also resembling some crowns that can be found on Belgian orders? I think we had similar discussion on this matter before...
    3. Markus, Thanks for pictures! Great idea, I can see that this is the beginning of an excellent topic! Here's just a small contribution, couple of pictures of KF hallmark I found on my hard drive. http://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-7937-0-55974200-1389223521.jpghttp://gmic.co.uk/uploads/monthly_01_2014/post-7937-0-34854600-1389223535.jpg
    4. Just a few more Front side of the same piece shown above:
    5. I accidentally stumbled upon older topic on this medal and thought it might be useful to post link here. http://gmic.co.uk/index.php/topic/20423-medalja-uspomena-na-put-u-indiju-i-birmu-1954-55/
    6. That was the best picture that I could find Among other things he was the museum director from 1869 until 1874. Срећна Нова година! Большое спасибо Ник! С Рождеством Христовым!
    7. One more Serb with Lion and the Sun Stojan Novaković (Стојан Новаковић), I read somewhere that this picture was taken in 1898 while he was Serbian envoy to Constantinople.
    8. Unfortunately nо, I'm not very familiar with Bulgarian generals and officers from that era so I forgot their names almost instantly
    9. I saw quite a lot of 1st class stars in Bulgarian National museum of military history, unfortunately taking pictures is forbidden. I presume that the most of the Bulgarians received this order on the Syrmian Front where they fought together with Yugoslav and Soviet forces.
    10. Museum sounds like a very nice idea, but on the other hand as much as I would hate seeing it become someone's super yacht anything's better than just letting it rot.
    11. Wiki link with some interesting information and couple of pictures showing how the ship looked in 2008 (I hope that something's been done since then): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galeb_(yacht)
    12. I didn't know that, thanks for info If the medals were awarded to Indian and Burman citizens as well then that 1200 doesn't sound that big anymore
    13. I have came across various numbers from 250-300, 500 to 1200. To be honest when I think about it 1200 sounds like a too big number considering the fact that it was awarded to individuals who accompanied Tito during this trip. I have read somewhere that there were around 500 of them. So that could be the actual number of awarded medals. In any case one of the rarest Yugoslav medals.
    14. By the way it is strange that ribbonsshop doesn't have ribbon for India and Burma medal but offers for example ribbon for Yugoslav Spain Fighters medal which, according to some sources, should be even more rare...
    15. Bilylev you are welcome. I am not certain about the exact number but 1200 is mentioned on couple of places. These fakes that I have mentioned are more recent, to be honest I do not know were they faking this particular medal that long ago... If I find some good images of the original medal I will forward them to you as well.
    16. Don't mention it Paul, I'll see if I can find some good images of the original medals and forward them to you. Now that we are talking about fakes, also watch out for the Medal for Yugoslav Fighters in Spain (1936-1956), Medal for Merits and Order of the Partisan Star (last two are heavily faked). I apologize for going off topic but this looked like a good opportunity to mention it.
    17. Greetings Jan and thanks for photos! http://www.ribbonsshop.com/ sells a lot of Yugoslav replacement ribbons and sashes, unfortunately not that many for decorations from the socialist era. Maybe you could try contacting them and see if ribbon like that will be available in the future. PS Just a friendly warning to all of the forum members, there are claims that there are very good fakes of this medal among others. I do not own a piece of my own so I can't say more on this matter or maybe show you some images, but what's indicative to me is that, considering how many of them were actually awarded, they show up too often.
    18. Glad you both like it I was very surprised when I saw that decoration on his chest
    19. Stanislav Binički (Станислав Бинички 1872-1942) Serbian composer and conductor, most famous for his "March on the Drina" (Марш на Дрину). Dated 14. II 1901.
