Its a real shame these documents are circulating, I guess ebay and the fall of the wall has lot to answer for?

I was just going to ask about that one, ive seen a few of these on ebay a couple have even come out of America! Remind me never to buy any Soviet douments from the Ukraine

In my oppinon Soviet Order numbers dont follow a definate pattern, even though PM tries to show the range of them. e.g I own order of the Red Banner Type 1 Variation 2 No. 61003 when PM states the lowest number is 61134! I just think the Red Banner is one that doesnt conform to the rules!

Dave, I agree with you I like my medals with a bit of character. I have been toying with the idea of replacing some of ribbons on my medals but decided against it because I think they would lose character. The thing that gets me about Soviet medals is that the Soviets can produce them to high standards but when alter or repair them they make a mess of them, Is it just me who thinks that?

I did read that, i was just concerned with the fraise a "a real one". I agree though the pictures did show the medal off to its best, i'll have to look at my lighting or may be a better camara next time. Order of Victory

Rusty, The OGPWII wasn't fake I had two of them in my collection they both looked a felt the same and both are genune and both came from very good dealers. Also I would never sell a fake as orginal if I had thought there was something wrong with the medal it would have been stated on the listing. I must agree the enamle was a bit iffy on the top ray but I have yet to see a perfect one that wasnt a fake. Order of Victory

Hi No the GPW II didnt come from that seller. Im not sure about the Red Banner of Labour because McDaniel doesnt list there being any fakes of the Type 1 Veration 2 and I have never seen another fake one!

Hi Well I certainly seem to have starded somthing with the medal. The medal did come off ebay and off the same seller I also aquired a order of the Red Banner of Labour Variation 1 Type 2 see pic's. Now what do you think of that!

Greetings, As this is my first first post please let me introduce my self, Iam Soviet Medal collector form the North West of England. I own a colection of over 68 medal and orders, 12 of the pieces are currently in the Lancahsire museum as part of a WWII exabition. During my time collecting Soviet Medals I have aquired some odd medals. One of these appears to be a very early order of the Red Banner of Red Banner of Labour see attached pic.
