    1. Great photograph - many thanks Slava . It looks like, as comrade Brayt is offering her medals for sale .... Best regards Christian
    2. Gentlemen, including the 14 % buyer's premium the result is: $57,000.00 . AND If you add - as a non-US-resident - shipment, insurance, customs and taxes, then you might jump very easily over the $60,000.00-benchmark . Well, 60k bucks is quite an impressive amount of money in the days of hard recession . Gentlemen, does anyone know, if this set is an authentic category 1 set - including all stamps, signitures etc. ? Best regards Christian
    3. Gentlemen, Igor exchanged the price tag: Now again $25,000.00. http://www.collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=19626 What's going on at the market today ? Best regards Christian
    4. Gentlemen, the comrade in question has to be a member of Mikhail Vasilyevich Vodopianov crew in 1937 - either a pilot or navigator - and he is NOT the navigator Valentin Ivanovitch Akkuratov. He is one of the comrades in the fine uniforms at this photo-strip: His role in the "North-Pole-Event-1937" had been an important one, because he got a Lenin for his contribution. Well, it's difficult - or impossible - without researching in cyrillic letters and in Russian language to get hold of this comrade . Best regards Christian
    5. Dear Christophe, had been the Russian sculptor Vyacheslav Mikhailovich Klykov http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vyacheslav_Klykov the artist in question ? Well, I have never been to Moscow ... Best regards Christian
    6. Gentlemen, new price reduction: $ 10.500,- for sale !!!!!! A reduction of 60 % against the initial $ 26.000,- some month ago . What's going on at the market ? Best regards Christian
    7. Dear Christophe, "temporarily" had been wrong .... Congratulation to your 42th victory . Absolut perfect answer - you told the whole story . It's your turn now. Best regards Christian BTW: Opus Dei priest Robert Bucciarelli knew from that time on about Hanssen's activities for the KGB, but wasn't allowed as a priest to report to the FBI, I guess.
    8. Question #225 Gentlemen, the new question is an rather easy one . 1) Who am I? I had been a "meritorious worker" for the "peace-keeping services" of the Soviet Union. 2) What had been my connection to Mother Teresa and who made that connection? The first, who answeres both question is the winner. Best regards Christian
    9. Dear Auke, thanks for your congratulations to my 42th victory at Christophe's quiz . Coming back to Lelyushenko's Khmelnitsky 1cl. I guess, the pic dosen't show that order. Anyway, the position you mentioned is in his row of foreign awards. If there should be a Khmelnitsky at the pic, the order should be at the first position ahead of the foreign orders, due to the regulations. Hypothesis: Could it be, that comrade Lelyushenko got his Khmelnitsky 1cl just before he passed away - before the photograph had been shot ? What do the sources say? O.K., next post will be my question . Best regards Christian
    10. Dear Auke, sorry ...., I couldn't find the last general . I can only guess: Pavel Ivanovich Batov - but I don't think the photographs really match : The problem is, that quite a few generals got 3x Suvorov 1cl ... I found in Dr. Herfurth's first book about Soviet Military Awards (1987, GDR) that - rather late - photograph of comrade Lelyushenko, which shows him without a Khmelnitsky at all : Col. Dr. David Glantz, THE US-expert in GPW-History, regards Lelyushenko as the best Soviet armour leader during the defense of Moscow (1941) at tactical & operational level. Best regards Christian
    11. Dear Auke, Left, down: Vasilij Danilovich Sokolovski (Василий Данилович Соколовский): 3x Suvorov 1cl + 3x Kutuzov 1cl Right, down: Dimitrij Danilovich Leljuschenko: 2x Suvorov 1cl + 2x Kutuzov 1cl Left, up: Andreij Antonovich Gretchko (Андрей Антонович Гречко): 2x Suvorov 1cl + 1x Suvorov 2cl + 2x Kutuzov 1cl + 2x Khmelnitsky 1cl The face of the comrade right, up is very, very common to me, but I can't guess his name . I will try later ... 3x Suvorov, 1x Kutuzov and 2x Khmelnitsky are missing .... Quite a lot for just one guy. Best regards Christian
    12. Dear Christophe, I guess, that will be your 41th victory - congratulations Best regards Christian
    13. Gentlemen, that's a reduction of mere 21 %. Igor reduced the price for his Labor Glory set for 45 % . The fact is, that Igor reduced the price for quite a few of his items and groups (also for ultra rare top-items!), but not for all. So we face a situation, that you can either spend USD 17.500,- for a single Glory 1cl, or can invest USD 22.000,- into this outstanding Glory set + documents + research + extra medals & badges. I guess, that's somehow a disproportion now ... Some weeks ago a full cavalier Glory set had been sold in Italy at an auction for USD 40.000,-. It seems that the atmosphere at an auction creates higher results, than checking the offers via internet . Best regards Christian
    14. Dear Christophe, congratulations to your 40th victory and your 2nd HSA . Best regards Christian BTW: HSA = "Hero of Socialistic Answering" (20 correct answers = 1 HSA). The (virtual) medal is ident to the HSL
    15. Gentlemen, that's a devaluation by 45 % . These sets are really very, very rare . Best regards Christian
    16. Great idea, Dolfek Best regards & Happy New Year and (orthodox) X-Mas Christian
    17. Dear Sebastien, congratulations to your YU-group Try to start to research about that "Olga Ivcovic" (?) . According to her awards, she should had been a member of the Communist Party. If you couldn't find anything about her (try also the cyrillic option at Google!) in the www, then maybe in the archives of the the former party (SPS ?). Best regards Christian
    18. Dear Wild Card, did our hero receive his Gold Star BEFORE January 1942 or posthum ? Must had been very special combat missions ... Maybe our hero belonged to the crews, which bombed Berlin ? Best regards Christian BTW: Great question - difficult & tricky
    19. Dear Eddie, congratulations to your victory Best regards Christian
    20. Oooups .... almost 2 years Marc (Lapa) has far more knowledge about Soviet awards, than me . Best regards Christian
    21. Longest serving #1 "good answerer" ? Dear Christophe, do you have any statistics - as you published some time ago - , who is the longest serving #1 "good answerer" ? Might be me ... But there is a narrow gap between 39 (Christophe, France) and 41 (Christian, Austria) ... Best regards Christian
    22. Dear Bob, many thanks for the information, that Dimitry's catalogue is online . Is this possible ... ? 2318 Order of Glory 3rd Class. Type 2. Award # 808111. Scarce variation with serial number engraved with rotating-tool. Among the last ones issued. Possible Afghanistan award. I guess, that the Soviet Union did not award Glories for service in Afghanistan .... Dimitry offers two Order of Glory full cavalier sets - one for USD 30K and the other for USD 20K starting price (+ buyer' premium, fees etc.). He also offers a Kutuzov 2cl - researched! - at a starting price of USD 15K, which is a real bargain, I guess : 2297 Order of Kutuzov 2nd Class. Type 2. Award # 2421. Variation 2 (with 5-rivets on reverse). Original silver nut. Comes with copies of official research from Ministry of Defense of Russian Federation (include photo) ? awarded to Guards Colonel A. Eremenko, HQ Operations Dept. Commander of 3rd Guards Tank Army (under command of legendary commander Ribalko). English translation attached. Also comes with Certificate of Authenticity from Paul McDaniel (high 9 out of 10 condition rating). Condition: Excellent with medium patina. Problem free $ 15,000 Most of Dimitry's starting prices reflect the (rather high) level of the market for high-end awards, but quite a few of them (specially groups) appear at an uncommon low price. Photographs of the items are - as usual in Dimitry's catalogues - of very poor quality ... Gentlemen, what's your opinion about Dimtry Markov's New York Sale ? Best regards Christian
    23. Rather drastic price reduction Gentlemen, this outstanding OLG cavaliers group is now on sale at Igor's website for USD 19,5K : http://www.collectrussia.com/DISPITEM.HTM?ITEM=19568 Best regards Christian
    24. Dear Christophe, excellent idea . You are the winner - Polish Armies . There is not much traffic in posting in the Soviet section - due to economic crisis and high prices for Soviet awards ? Best regards Christian
