That's an RAF Survival Knife . They were sewn onto the flying suit/vest. Its designed to cut the fabric of seat restraints and ropes. Joe -

No, these badges had no crown. You have a complete London North Eastern Railway helmet badge. Well done!! Joe

The Malta Police Force used the duty armband till the mid 1980's, and ours was the horizontal one!! I still have a few of them in my collection!!
