Hallo Gents I recently picked up this helmet, a m34, post Dutch helmets supplied via Nazi Germany to the Romanian Military, and would appreciate any tips on restoring it or at least controlling the rust!! Hallo Gentlemen, Yesterday the 06 December, I was traveling with a friend who was on a business trip to Targu Jiu in the GORJ county, to the south of Hunedoara county where I live, on the way there and before entering the mountain pass to get to Targu Jiu, we had to pass through the mining town of Petrosani, on the outskirts my friend had to make a slight detour to Aninosa (no not the place where all the Romanian Amnesiacs live ) Having passed that way once before, my eyes had been drawn to a large stone monument in a small graveyard on a windswept hill side, so I bailed out of the car and with camera headed off to investigate while my buddy Ovi went about his business. Hallo Gents thanks for your replies, the 4th medal was the only one I could not find in my reference book, which is notoriously full of inaccurate info at the best of times. With regards the 23rd of August medal, I believe commemorates the day the Romanian Military went over to the Russians in WW2, more info will be posted as I find it out. Ricky, as far as I can remember, the bar is of very similar construction to the Soviet Style. The same dealer had this Romanian State Security Award (again sorry for the poor picture). Order for "Outstanding Achievements in the Defence of the Public Order of the State." 1st Model Class III R.P.R. (1947-1965) also known as: "The Securitate Order". Hallo Gents At a recent Collectors Fair in Brasov I spotted this bar, sorry in advance for the poor pictures, glare from the overhead lights, and the owner would not trust me to take it away and make pictures near the windows The medals are: 1. Order of the 23rd of August. 2nd Class (?) 2. Order of Military Merit I st Class. 3. Commemoration of 5 years Liberation from the Fascists 4. Outstanding Service to State, R.P.R. issue. 5. 50th Commemoration of the Peasants Revolution. (of 1907) RARE!!! 6. Exemplary Military Service Medal / "VIRTUTEA OSTASEASCA" CL.1 7. Military Merit Medal I st Class, 8. Military Merit Medal 2 nd Class, 9. Workers Medal for Labor, 10. Liberation from Fascism Medal. Hallo saschaw, many thanks for the clarification, not being from Germany but having lived in Bavaria for 5 years, with the odd day-trip to the north-western neighboring states, I could not remember their colours Kevin in Deva (Transylvania, whose colours are red on everything )

Hallo saschaw now, I am getting confused, what were the normal State colours for W?rttemberg as depicted on the State buildings, say in the 1900's. I mean colours outside official military state medal orders awards. As an example Bavaria's colours were predominantly Blue and White for example. Kevin in Deva.
