Hallo Gents, thought I would share this with you, as my brother was liucky enough to get permission to photograph the removal of the Longford Cavalry Barracks Comet A34 Tank monument. Some background info here:- Prior to becoming an Irish Defence Force Military installation it was originally a former British Army installation in Ireland. It was also the home of a Comet Tank A34 which was either purchased as part of a lot of four in late 1958 / early 1959 at 22,000 G.B.P. from the U.K., or from a second group of four in 1960, from the U.K. two being delivered on 26th January and the last two on 2nd February 1960 respectively. My brother Anthony Ryan with the Comet prior to its removal from Longford Barracks. Some of the Calvary Force personnel assembled for the removal. More pictures to follow. Kevin in Deva.

Romania Romanian "RSR" Cap Badge
Kev in Deva replied to a topic in Central & Eastern European States
Hi Ricky, trying to locate a rank list I had around here, but, from what I recall my wife saying about them, yours could be for a Non-Commissioned officer, rank determined by whatever was on his shoulder boards. The one on the cap I pictured for an officer. Shoulder board on Great coat. Kevin in Deva. -

Romania Romanian "RSR" Cap Badge
Kev in Deva replied to a topic in Central & Eastern European States
Hi Ricky, I am sure I once had part of a Romanian Militia Mans uniform (Greatcoat and Cap) pass through my hands I will try and locate the pictures, as I feel it had a similar Cap-badge. From what I know grade / rank was determined by the numbers / layers of branches under the communist cipher. Kevin in Deva. -
I have read of references to:- 9th Army - Falkenhayn. General K?hne and 41st, 109th, 301st and 11th Bavarian, (I presume these are Divisions?) also reference to a Schmetton's Korps ? Group Krafft:- Goiginger Division, 216th Division, Alpine Kprps in total 33 Battalions and 31 Batteries. In the forcing of the Kronstadt Passes:- Groups Morgen & Staabs. November 26th (1917?) Army of the Danube:- 5th Division, 217th Division, "Division Goltz" Outside of my inquiry, is also mentioned:- the Turkish 26th, Bulgarian 1st & 12th, Austro-Hungarian Danube Flotilla and Pioneers. November 29th (1917?) Battle for Bucharest:- 9th Army, Army Group Mackensen, Group Stabbs, Krafft, K?hne, Morgen. I am looking to flesh out these forces, with regards who they were composed off.
