(2nd company 3rd Sea Battalion)Japan POW Camp: BandoOrginally from: Wittemberg PreussenIs there anything you could possibly find to go with that? About the unit, the camp etc.....ThanksChris
Guest Rick Research Posted July 30, 2006 Posted July 30, 2006 Not for an enlisted man. There is, Out There Somewhere astunned ox, fall to the ground, drop dead miracle group to a Marine Lt dR named Fritz Zimmermann who ended up in Australia, where my South Oz pal got it from Z's daughter, but was obliged to sell it for his growing family andthere were literally hundreds upon hundreds of photos (among many other things) and endless documents (sit down dinners, theatrical performances, voting on the Padre's sermons etc etc) FROM whichever camp HE was in. As I recall, officers and enlisted men were in the same camp, but probably sorted out by barracks. (Certainly, the officers got their 1914 Tsingtau surrendered swords back when they went home in 1920-- his still had the tag on it!) There is a once in a lifetime group, if anyone knows where it all is now.1914-20 was NOT 1941-45.
