Gentlemen

I was given this lovely blade a while back and am trying to find out a bit more about it, specifically where i might get a translation of the inscription (Persian & Koranic, I assume) and how I might identify the maker's marks stamped and gilded on the other side of the blade.

Also, the handle and sheath are very plain for such a blade, it seems. Is this common? Any way to date it, even roughly? Any and all advice gratefully received!
