Jacques Posted June 7, 2005 Posted June 7, 2005 Thanks Jan. I do like it and it will do until I find an aluminium one.Don←Even when you get an aluminium one, keep this one too. jacques
Stogieman Posted June 10, 2005 Posted June 10, 2005 I would agree here...... a zink version of this badge is something to be proud of owning! It's a beautiful example of an extremely hard to find badge.
Stogieman Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Hi Don, I don't think it's possible to be modest when holding one of these in your collection!! One of the rarest and most desirable of the WW2 badges, IMO!
Jacques Posted June 17, 2005 Posted June 17, 2005 Hi,Here is mine in aluminium. Textbook unmarked aluminium 2nd model.jacques

Jacques Posted June 19, 2005 Posted June 19, 2005 my badge←Hi,Your badge looks like to be made of Tombac. jacques
J Temple-West Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Sorry Wayne, but I have concerns about this badge. As far as I know, the only maker marked examples were the 1st pattern type made in aluminium.. An original 1st pat' has no beard (this characteristic came into being on the 2nd pattern ).. Your maker mark, although close, is not, IMO, an original 'Juncker' mark..Seeing that we have some members who collect these badges, perhaps they could lend a helping hand in comparing Wayne's badge to examples in their reference files.
T Casale Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 Hi Wayne,I have to agree with John concerning your badge. These badges were either produced in aluminum (1st pattern) or zinc (later pattern). These badges are rare to find.I'm posting my late war zinc badge. No marker mark, but produced by Juncker.Tony
Jacques Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 I also do think the badge is not good. The E.Queen book is quite helpful and this topic is available on others forum. Several things bother me:Metal umployedHookMMColordetails of the eagle & the wreathrivetshingeTo many for such a rare badge of which just one or two Juncker marked are known.Jacques
Guest Wayne sinnott Posted June 20, 2005 Posted June 20, 2005 No problem, the badge didnt cost me anything and as a "proper one" is hard to come by I am happy to leave it in my collection, it is still a quality badge, the eagle looks like it could be made of silver but I am no metal expert, if there is no doubt that this badge is a fake there are some very talented people out there who need to find better ways of channeling their talents
Guest Wayne sinnott Posted June 25, 2005 Posted June 25, 2005 Does this one look any better, dont panic ive not bought it.
T Casale Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Hi Wayne,I have nothing good to say about the last badge you posted.I would stay away from that one.CheersTony
Guest Wayne sinnott Posted June 27, 2005 Posted June 27, 2005 Dont worry I am as far away from it and all the others this chap has on offerhttp://germanmilitaria.netfirms.com/items-for-sale.htm
