Theodor Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Hi guys, just got this beauty Imperial Russia officer aglets, made from metal threads, decorated wit hthe Russian eagle and the cypher of Nikolai II.For what rank are these aglets? Does the color, shape or decoration point to a specific unit? There is flaming bomb decoration, does it mean artillery or some other branch of the army? Thanks in advance for ideas!
Ramblinfarms Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Hi Theodor. My guess would be a Grenadier Regiment. One of the other guys should be able to tell you more. Very beautiful. The quality sure seems to be there.Chris
REGAL UNIFORMA COLECTOR Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 ADC Aide-de-Camp Adjutant Staff Officer pre-1914 in silver wire worn on colored dress uniforms.
Chuck In Oregon Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 Thanks for sharing that and teaching me something. I have an example of the top part, the bulb-shaped piece with the flaming bomb on it. I never knew exactly what it was except that it was a part of the end of one of those straps, which I didn't know the name of either. Now that I can see how it fit, it makes more sense and now it isn't just sitting around as a curiousity. Thanks again.Very little time to participate these days and I miss it. That will change once our guests leave next week.Chuck
