Eduardo Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 (edited) I have this photo postcard with a good and clear sign identifying them as Stube 58, and a post stamp in the back which reads ERSATZ and something else. Can someone tell me about this group. I am also sending the reverse inscription which is very weak .Eduardo Edited October 18, 2006 by Eduardo
Chip Posted October 18, 2006 Posted October 18, 2006 (edited) Eduardo,The sign in the photo is too small for me to see, but the back is better and I can read the name of the sender, who is Kanonier Betz, Rheinisches Fu?artillerie Rgt. Nr.8, 3.Rekruten Depot, Langenheim, Kreis Metz. These are young trainees, who are wearing the old Dunkelblau uniforms. By the date on this card (1917) these uniforms were officially superceded, but in reality, they continued to be used by the thrifty German military. Chip Edited October 19, 2006 by Chip
