Riley1965 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I see an OPW, 1st Class. Shouldn't there also be an OPW, 2nd Class? Doc
Guest Rick Research Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Very nice! You have both the Chou En-Lai facsimile signature Chinese pages upside down for the Chinese version of the Sino-Soviet Friendship Medal award document, but it doesn't matter because it is blank. As often happens with that type, the places inside for the name and on the back cover for the year have not been filled in.That type came in a very nice box originally:http://gmic.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=2344...viet+FriendshipThe second (missing) Red Star is a 30 December 1956 long service one, which means the Captain joined the Red Army or Air Force in 1941. It would be VERY interesting to research him and see what he was doing in China--and when. The 1985 jubilee OPW1 meant with this combination he was probably considered a war invalid by that time.
Riley1965 Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Ilja, It's still a very nice and VERY interesting group. I agree with Rick...the research should be very interesting. Doc
