Guest Rick Research
Beniamin Gershkevich Marder's "nationality" is the Stalinist designation "Hebrew."When his Award Record Card was filled out, he was the Deputy Director of an unspecified factory in Baranovka, Baranovsky raion, Zhitomir Oblast.Citation ends with actions outside Vienna, so he must have been entitled to that medal too. Details:Born 15 June 1902 in the village of Kamenny-Brod, Zhitomir Oblast.CPSU 1925 # 1,756,312Before the war Director of a .... factory in the city of Olevo... for the Ministry of.....Major 19.5.43Too late for my tired eyes to read too tiny handwriting. Back another time. You must have, what, about SIX research results in simultaneously, Gerd???? That's 3 years amount for me, all at once!!!!! Gerd Becker
Thanks, Rick. I know roughly, what?s in the citation, so take your time.Yes, i got 6 results in this time. A Glory 3rd class is left now, but its nothing special. Thanks a lot again, my friend!
Christian Zulus
Dear Gerd, you note:He got this OGPW 2nd class for fixing communication lines and taking care of the wire and radio communication in general during fights on the 7.2.45 and the 6.4.45 at Vienna. At the 7th of february 1945 there had been no fights in or around Vienna, but in Budapest. So he got his OGPW 2cl for Budapest AND Vienna. The Moscow-Medal is noted, but at the photograph we see two more medals beside the Moscow-Medal: Germany-Medal and Budapest (?) OR Vienna (?) Medal. Why didn't he got both of the Medals?Interesting comrade .Best regardsChristian Edited November 28, 2006 by Christian Zulus
