what was this case for?

I was wondering if anyone knew what this case was for and issue dates. I will post the case first then after any replys-if any will post what came in the case--I have no ides if what came wiht this case is a marrage or not..Mike

Hi Mike, looks like a table medeal case for a wedding jubilee? What is the tray inside fitted for? Round medal?

I guess it could be for that Rick, (don't think it was a table medal as there is a spot for the loop) although that is not what came with the case--in fact, what sits in it is a bit larger than what may have been issued with the case. Here is the inside. Has a dark blue velvet base for the metal to sit in, case is 2 3/8 x 2 3/8 inches square and has the name M.J.R?ckert-Mainz on inside top. Any other ideas?? I really don't know and will show what the case came with in the next few days or so. Mike

It has the signs of beign a jubileum case for sure. The case looks very familiar, but I can't quite remember witch jubileum medall I've seen inside one of these...
