    1) Is it logical to assume that, as with most all other cast reproductions, the finished size (significantly smaller) would be an indicator of a fake?

    2) What should the measurments of a front Flight Clasp be? Width and Height, to start with?

Well yes but I think with so many unmarked examples and who knows how many makers it may be impossible to use this rule as one maker's clasps may be slightly smaller than anothers. This would only work when you are comparing like-for-like, and the maker is identified?

Here's some measurements; height of wreath x span:

    Bomber (Juncker, tombac)

    25.8 x 76

    Fighter (OSANG, zinc)

    26 x 77

    Fighter (unmarked, tombac)

    25.8 x 76

    Bomber (unmarked, tombac)

    25.9 x 76

    Fake?

    25.9 x 76.8

    Hi Rich,

I have been waiting and watching, with disappointment. :speechless: I will try to post some weights and dimensions tonight or tomorrow. I guess most people are intersted in J2s or Ground Assault Badges. Nothing wrong with that, but eventually, many collectors develop an interest in Spanges.

    Regards,

It seems no one else is interested. Pity.
